"What's that?" Chenle asked and leaned above the table when Jeno sat down. The raven haired guy immediately noticed the book he brought with him, so he wanted to have a look at it. The brunette handed the younger the book and stared at him as he flipped some pages and read the title multiple times. "Where did you find this?" Chenle then gave him back the old book and frowned.

"On some shelf at the back of that first row." Jeno explained and pointed at the long row of shelves filled with books from different genres. "I really like fantasy you know? It must be because I played too many fantasy games." Jeno chuckled and rubbed his nape.

"I read that one." Mark suddenly spoke and stared at the book. "Last year. I know it's all imagination, but while I read it, I felt like what was written there might be true. Or at least some things." The blonde haired said and sighed. His eyes landed on Chenle, who had an amused look plastered on his face as if what his friend just said was a joke or something like that. "He told me I had a great imagination with these kind of stuff so don't mind him. Still, that book is cool just so you know."

Jeno showed a smile as he looked from Mark to Chenle. They quickly dropped the subject of the mysterious book and after two hours of the two explaining him some stuff he didn't get in class, they finally realized it was five in the afternoon. The sky was slowly starting to become darker, making the library look creepier than when they have arrived. Fewer students were inside as well when the three guys exited the library. Jeno didn't forget to go to the librarian before exiting the place so he could borrow the book he wanted to badly to read.

With Mark in front, the walked down the stairs until they reached the ground floor. It was empty, with no one walking around. Few candles were ignited, so they would illuminate the dark corridors. Their shadows were dancing on the walls. making Jeno feel shivers down his spine all of a sudden. It was creepy, to be in the school so late when no one walked around at all.

"I wonder what's for dinner." Chenle mumbled in his right, making Jeno forget about his uneasy feeling for a few seconds. "I hope we get something sweet today."

"Yeah, me too. I'm craving cupcakes." Mark replied while he ran a hand through his blonde hair.

They were already outside and surprisingly, Jeno spotted Miss Kim talking with Renjun right in front of the gate that separated the school yard from the campus one. When the slim woman noticed the trio, she showed a small smile.

"How was your first day Jeno?" Miss Kim was wearing a black dress that was matching with her long black hair that looked like silk. "I see you even made some friends already." She glanced at Mark and Chenle, who both bowed their heads. "I'm glad you fit in so nicely."

"My classmates are really nice." The brunette finally managed to reply.

"That's good to hear." Miss Kim then sighed loudly. "You three should go. I suppose you are tired from studying the whole afternoon."

None of them replied to her statement, but Jeno noticed how Mark nodded in response before grabbing him by his arm. Chenle followed behind, not even glancing at Renjun who seemed really pale in Jeno's opinion, as if he was sick or something.

"Am I the only one who thinks Miss Kim is kind of creepy?" Chenle whispered to the two. For some reason, his question made Jeno frown in confusion. He never thought of the principal as creepy, maybe cold with people, but he couldn't say she was creepy in any way.

"I mean, look at this school." Mark replied after few moments of thinking. "This whole place is creepy in my opinion."

Even if he didn't reply, Jeno agreed with the blonde guy. The school was indeed creepy after all and it wasn't just because he was new there. If a student who was there for at least one year thought that too, then he must have been right from the start.

Renjun walked away from the principal, feeling weaker than usual. He felt his hands cold as if he was a dead man just like Sungchan, whose heart was no longer beating, but the young vampire knew it was something weird for him to feel his hands cold. He was a Death Angel and Death Angels never felt cold in their lives.

"Your father will kill you when he finds out you started to become weaker than you were before." A cold voice spoke somewhere in the shadows which made the brunette stop in the middle of the yard. Few meters in front of him, the entrance of the campus was wide open, so the students would enter the modern looking building when they pleased.

Renjun turned around and gave Jaemin a glare. The tall vampire made his way towards him in a slow walk, as if he was taking a relaxing walk by a lake or something similar.

"What do you want?" Renjun tried his best to remain calm, but failed because his claws appeared. He felt ashamed to know that someone beside Miss Kim realized he became weaker in these past few months. "Go annoy your friends or your roommate."

"My roommate is taken by his new friends." Jaemin pouted and blink innocently. "And I also don't know where my friends are." The tall vampire stepped forward, until he was really close to Renjun who kept on glaring at him. "I wonder, if you have such nice boyfriend why aren't you with him?" The raven haired whispered in his ear, which made Renjun flinch.

"Donghyuck is not my boyfriend."

"Then are you two friends with benefits?" Being pushed away from the brunette made Jaemin laugh. "What was that for shortie?" He then hissed and showed his claws. "Are you up for a fight or something? Oh right, you're weak. You couldn't even hope to beat me." Jaemin then chuckled while running his hand through his dark and soft hair.

"Mind you business filthy silver demon." Renjun clenched his fists, ignoring the fact that his claws cut through his flesh. His eyes turned red while his sharp teeth appeared.

"I'm frightened." Jaemin pretended to shiver while his eyes turned silver. "This is why I told you back then that if you leave me you'll get weak." The raven haired vampire showed a smile that made Renjun widen his eyes. "You made your choice, but I never said I would respect it."

A sad chuckle escaped the brunette vampire's throat as he allowed his claws to disappear.

"And this behavior of yours led to me leaving you. You should start thinking of what you did because you still didn't change at all since then." Blinking in frustration and anger, Renjun turned around and started walking away from the tall vampire. He felt one tear fall down his cheek while he climbed up the stairs.

Even after years of having to pretend that he was fine each time he saw Jaemin crossing the corridors or being a filthy piece of shit like usual, Renjun still couldn't get rid of those feelings he promised himself to let go of. It angered him, because he even ended up dating his best friend for a while, but not even that helped.

The brunette wiped the tear away and entered one of the elevators. He stared at his palms, that were healing way too slow for a normal Death Angel. This weakness he had now started to scare him, because for a pure blood vampire, he should be as strong as Jaemin.

"Maybe if I drink more blood." Renjun whispered to himself the moment he locked the door of his shared room with Yangyang that was chilling in his bed. "Maybe if I drink his blood." He stopped in the middle of the room and thought of Jeno.

When the tall mortal walked past him when he was talking to Miss Kim, Renjun felt attacked by his sweet scent. Usually, he shouldn't feel tempted to taste blood so badly, but something about Jaemin's new roommate made him crave blood more than usual. But maybe, just maybe, that boy would be the key to him being the pure-blood vampire he deserved to be.
