For the first time in his life, Renjun regretted his decision. Why did he have to act like this so early in the morning and follow Jeno outside the school? If he wouldn't have done something like this, then he wouldn't have found out his only friend, the only person whom he trusted with his life, was in fact an enemy. But also, if he wouldn't have found out now, then he wouldn't have known what was happening in the first place.

He was still beneath Donghyuck, whose eyes were wide, but his grip around Renjun's wrists didn't loosen up even a bit. From all people in that school, why did it have to be his best friend? Despite not wanting to show any sadness, Renjun felt a tear escaping his eye.

"Was it fun?" The brunette asked and showed an emotionless smile. Because Donghyuck wasn't giving him any sign that he would reply soon, Renjun felt annoyed. "Say something!" He shouted and pushed the blonde haired off of him. Another tear fell down his cheek and he quickly wiped it away. "Did you put him to be a spy inside our school?" Renjun looked up at Jeno, who was standing with his claws out, prepared to catch him if he dared to run away. A smirk formed Renjun's lips while few more tears escaped his eyes. "Say something."

Jeno ran a hand through his hair before he replied. "There is no point in lying. Yes, I told him to choose a school and infiltrate there. I had to find the prince after all." The brown haired vampire smiled softly and crouched right in front of Renjun. His hand touched Renjun's cheek and with a finger, Jeno wiped away a tear. "I know what you were about to do. Donghyuck didn't need to tell me to realize it. He did tell me everything I had to know, but I knew way before he told me your plan what you were about to do. You suck at lying anyway, just like Jaemin."

Hearing the prince's name made Renjun widen his eyes. What did he do to him?

"If you touch him, I promise I'll kill you." The brunette hissed, but as a reply, Jeno just chuckled. The tall vampire ran his fingers through his hair, making Renjun feel even more weaker than he should. And he thought he could destroy a Silver Demon if he got powerful again. That was something impossible.

"You see, you can expose me any time you want." Jeno stood up and stretched out his hand so Renjun would take it, but the short vampire just slapped it away. He didn't need his help to stand up. "You can expose me today if you want..."

"I may be weak but I'm not stupid." Renjun hissed at him. "Do you think I didn't hear the news the your ran away?" He then smiled and touched his arm softly, making the vampire flinch. "Just wait. I can go up there by giving the king your head. I don't even need royal blood for that." His claws appeared and left a small hole in Jeno's hoodie. As he took his hand off of Jeno's arm, Renjun glared at the detective from the other day. "I knew you were suspicious. Is he one of your dogs as well?"

"I'm his cousin." The orange haired vampire growled and was about to attack him when Jeno stopped him by grabbing his arm.

"Better then." Renjun chuckled before he turned around. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone for now. I'm waiting for my opportunity." Without looking back, Renjun walked away from the three vampires and finally took a deep breath. Tears fell down his cheeks and he felt his chest ache. He was alone again and he wanted to hit himself for being so stupid. How could he trust him with his life after only one year of knowing each other? "Why am I so stupid?" Renjun sobbed and dropped himself next to a tree. "Is this my payment for almost murdering Jaemin in his sleep that night?" As he asked himself that, the vampire looked up. He only saw green, not even one spot of blue up there. "Why does it hurt though?" His last words became a whisper as he hugged his knees.

He never wanted to admit this to anyone, but his biggest fear was to be left alone again. First he got too greedy and ended up using Jaemin for power, now Donghyuck betrayed him.
