Breaking Perception

This was such a fun chapter to write. It will be slightly emotional so be prepared. Cough cough next chapter is the start to Elseworlds!!!!

Nora's POV

"Dad, what the hell was that? I just...mom just killed grandpa Henry and..."

"Nora." He places his hands on my shoulder making me look at him. "I don't have time to explain..."

"Wh...why would mom do such a thing? She..."

"That wasn't your mother." He blurts out.

"What?"

"That was your mom's doppelganger from Earth-2 she...she was the one who killed my dad."

"But she...she looked and acted so similar to mom and..."

"It's just the like the council of Wells. They are similar but yet so different and..."

"But none of them killed anyone." I remind him.

"Nora, there is no time for this. I need to figure out what time we're in." He looks around.

"Dad about...about Savitar and mom..." We stop as a speedster speeds in front of us.

"This is right. 2016." Dad states.

"How do you know?" I ask him.

"Because that was Zoom with Wally. I'm about to lose my speed. Come on. We speed into the lab hiding out as we watch the scene unfold before us.

"Barry are you okay?" Aunt Iris asks.

"I'm okay. I'm okay." Dad responds and I jump as Zoom picks dad up and throws him against the wall.

"Thank you, Flash."

"Jay, stop!" Caitlin orders. "If you have any humanity left, then please let him go." She begs him. Zoom tosses dad to the floor and I watch mom catch him holding dad in her arms as he tries to catch his breath. Zoom then speeds out taking Caitlin with him.

"Caitlin!" Cisco yells and we hide hoping he won't see us. It's too close of a call. Our hearts are beating so fast. "We gotta get Caitlin back." Dad motions for me to stay put as he sneaks in to get the dark matter device.

"Barry." I hear my mom's voice and I follow it. I see my dad visibly upset in the hallway and my mom comforting him. "Hey do not beat yourself up over this. We will find a way to make this okay. Everyone is here to help you." She rubs his back in the way I remember her doing to me when I was upset. "You're not alone in this. We're all here to help you. You are more than just your speed Barry." I watch as she then places her hand on his chest where his heart is. "Your heart is what makes you The Flash." I want to stay and see more of them in these moments but I speed to meet dad.

"Did you get it?" I ask him.

"I got it. Let's build this thing." He answers and we go to leave but Zoom speeds in front of us.

"You're not going anywhere, Flash." Dad takes a protective stance in front of me. Keeping me away from Zoom.

"You got what you want, Zolomon." Dad fires back with a venom I've never heard in his voice. Zoom tilts his head noticing me.

"And who is this?" Dad places a hand out in front of me pushing me back. "Another speedster." We take off running now back into the Speed Force. He's right behind us and a Time Wraith comes out attaching itself to Zoom dad grabs my shoulder and pushes me out of the Speed Force to prevent us from being taken too. We roll to the ground and hear glass breaking.

"No, no, no!" Dad yells as he scrambles to pick up the device. "Damn it! I know we shouldn't have done this. Now we have no way to stop Cicada." He complains to me. "I mean, I don't even know when we are." He looks around trying to find some information.
