Killer Ice

I loved this chapter so much and I hope you all enjoy it too. I have big plans for the end of season 5 and I feel like none of you will see it coming.

"So the Cryo-Atomizer has the ability to disperse particles into the atmosphere. Particles that slow down atoms to a grinding halt." Caitlin explains to us.

"And the slower they get..."

"The colder they are." Barry finishes my sentence for me. I still can't even look at him.

"How cold are we talking?" Joe asks.

"Absolute zero." Caitlin confirms. "And if we combine them with Icicle's meta-powers..."

"He could plunge Central City into a new Ice Age." Barry guesses

"There is some good news." Caitlin assures us. "I think we can track the nano-microparticles inside the atomizer. We just have to reprogram an oscillating inversion scanner. Do you mind running to the downstairs storage area and grabbing it?" Caitlin asks Barry.

"Mm-hmm." Barry agrees.

"Wait." Carla stops him. "You should use a modified field array. There's one in the upstairs archives."

"No, no, actually the inversion scanner would work best. Thank you." Caitlin argues, and Barry is lost on whose orders to follow.

"No, no. Not since we upgraded our field arrays last year." Carla interrupts again. "You know you would know that if you visited more, not just when you needed something."

"Apparently, only when I need the wrong thing." Caitlin argues with her mother. "The inversion scanner." She orders Barry.

"The field array." Carla challenges. They are both giving Barry an uncomfortable stare, and I love it.

"How about I get both." I offer. "And I will take my time." I whisper the last part.

"You need help?" Joe and Barry ask me. I only look at Joe as I shake my head. Once out of the lab, I teleport to the storage to get the different rays, but I jump as alarms go off on my phone. It's alerting me that Barry's vitals are plummeting. I teleport back into the lab to find Caitlin and Carla gone with ice everywhere and Joe hovering over Barry.

"Barry. Barry, come on!" He shouts. "Come on, Barr!"

"Icicle?" I ask Joe as I come to Barry's aid.

"Yes. I can barely feel his pulse." Joe says to me.

"He has hypothermia." I jump as I hear Sherloque say the diagnosis at the same time as me.

"His heart rate's dropping. We only have seconds to save him." Sherloque says. I look around, needing to find a solution, and I spot it. I break open one of Carla's machines needing its wires.

"What are you doing?" Joe asks me.

"This machine has a large power source." I inform him.

"She's going to use it to save Monsuire Allen." Sherloque theorizes, and I nod my head. I levitate the wires to rub against each other to create some spark.

"Stand back." I order everyone as I place the wires against Barry's suit.

"Oh, the current should heat up the cooper wiring of his suit's circuitry, and Mrs. Wayne-Allen needs to heat it up enough so that his speed healing kicks in." Sherloque explains to Joe.

"Is it safe?" Joe asks.

"Safer than me killing him." I answer as I keep hoping it will work.

"Come on Monsieur Allen." Sherloque chants as the electricity begin to heat through the ice.
