The Very Best of Us

I hope you all enjoy this conclusion to the Elseworld's crossover. I'm already excited to write the crisis chapters and I'm not even halfway through season 5!!!

Kara's POV

The door opens and I finally see what happened to the world I once knew. A man who looks like Clark but I can only guess is Deegan walks through the door. He shoots heat vision towards me making things sizzle and pop in my cell. "I know the real man who wears that glyph. It's not you. You're not Superman." It hits Deegan hard as the smirk on his face falls hearing my words.

"And yet, I am all that you once were. No offense to Barry Allen, but as a hero, you...you are so much more than just faster than a speeding bullet."

"So you're imitating my powers and my family crest, but not my gender? Too afraid to be a woman?" I question him.

"Oh, I'm not afraid of anything. The Book of Destiny revealed to me all there is to know about Barry Allen and Oliver Queen but for you and this Man of Steel. There was nothing. Nothing but the android you fought in Central City. It's...it's as if you don't exist in this world."

"And that's why you locked me up and dampened my powers."

"I don't know who you are. I don't know how you got here, but none of that matters because I am now you. New and improved and." Deegan whistles and someone comes flying in at superspeed that I have to cover my eyes from the impact of the landing. I look and I'm astonished to see Damian in a similar black super suit as Deegan but there's no light in his eyes.

"Damian." I place my hands on the glass. "What have they done to you?"

"Hands off the glass!" He orders as he shoots heat vision from his eyes.

"What did you do to him?!" I demand from Deegan.

"Oh, I just saw great potential in young Damian. Something none of you have ever tapped into. Do you know his mind is as quick as his physical skills? I just upgraded him to the elite and now...I'm unstoppable." Deegan boasts but my heart breaks seeing Damian as not himself.

"How much longer till we end her?" Damian asks and I gasp at his words.

"For right now she will stay right where she is."

"We'll stop you." I fire back at him.

"We'll see about that." Damian pulls out a device and presses a button causing a high-pitched ringing to echo through my cell. I scream out in pain. "Just one of many things I've been developing to keep you prisoner."

"Damian this isn't you."

"You don't know me." He snaps.

"I know that you...you are the son of Bruce Wayne. Nephew of Anna Wayne-Allen. You were born to the League of Assassins but you're a good person Damian. You..."

"Enough!" He slams forward making me jump back by his force. "You are worthless. Meaningless and never forget expendable."

"Now that's enough." Deegan places his hand on Damian's shoulder applying so much pressure that I can hear Damian's bone crack under the force. I see the pain written on Damian's face but he never lets out a cry. "Go see what else needs to be done." Deegan orders. Damian flies away and I just stare at him with sadness in my heart.

After much convincing, I was able to get Alex to free me so I can also free her. We quickly make our way down the hallway but stop as the elevator opens revealing a glowing red-eyed Damian followed by Diggle and Killer Frost. "Loyalty is so hard to come by. No one likes a traitor." Damian turns his gaze at Alex with his eyes glowing brighter. I jump to stand in front of her.
