There will be some slight emotional moments towards the end of this chapter. Just a warning.

I stir awake to a weird smell. "Is something burning?" I ask Barry who is still snoring. "Babe!" I hit his chest sending him crashing to the floor with all the sheets.

"Come on." He complains. "For real?"

"Something is burning." I repeat as I put some clothes on and Barry follows after me to the kitchen where Iris is making or attempting to make breakfast.

"What's happening?" Barry asks with a giant yawn.

"Hey guys. Big day and I thought I would treat us all to a big breakfast." Iris exclaims with joy and I have to stop breathing from the smell of burnt everything.

"I don't think she knows what the meaning of the word treat is." I whisper to Barry and he chuckles.

"I was thinking we could have breakfast together and get ready to cheer Barry on at the game." Iris explains as she brings the food to the table.

"Do you need any help?" Barry asks seeing the mess she's made.

"No, no, you guys just sit." Iris sets the table for us. Nora takes her next to me and I sit next to Barry and Iris is across from us.

"What do we have here?" Barry asks her with worry.

"Well these are pancakes, as you can see, but I made them into little lightning bolts and Anna I added some food coloring..."

"Oh...this...gray is supposed to be..."

"Purple for you and everything. Yay." Iris is so happy it breaks our heart to tell her this all sucks. "Well, the batter kind of got away from me, but you see the little zigzag." She points out the design to us.

"No, no, no. Yeah, yeah I totally see it, yeah." Barry dowses his pancakes with syrup.

"I'm not eating that." I mutter to him.

"Just try it. And I'll buy you a burrito on the way to the game." Barry whispers back to me.

"Two burritos." I negotiate. Nora takes out her phone and starts taking photos.

"What are...what are you doing?" Iris asks her.

"Uh, I am just getting evidence that you make lumpy pancakes in every time period." Nora snaps away.

"The bacon is really good." I comment even though I want to throw it all up.

"Really?" Iris is gleaming as I fake it.

"Let's try it out." Barry says as he takes a giant bite and you can hear all the crunching from can only be guessed as egg shells in the batter. "Mmm. Lumpy but delicious."

"Really? Thanks guys. I'm so happy you guys enjoy it."

"So much so I saw...we make this a very special occasion that like only happens once in a decade." I offer as I carefully spit the food in my napkin.

"You guys excited to cheer me on at the charity softball game?" Barry asks us as he continues to eat the horrible breakfast.

"Softball, schway. But I thought you sucked at anything athletic." Nora states to Barry.

"Oh, he does." I comment as I drink my tea. "But he looks good doing it." I pat Barry's shoulder.

"I just hope I don't get stuck in right field this year." Barry groans at the idea.

"The probability of it happening is high though." I remind Barry.

"Things could change." He argues back.
