Ellie
"No matter what tricks or shite Grant spouts today, remember, I am with you all the way. So is Carson and Damien. We are your support system, remember and lean on us and everything will work out in the end." Jack's words were resounding in my head from her pep talk this morning and it was getting me through part of this morning. Grant, of course was turning on the charm and painting himself to be a good person, that I had lied, that I like rough sex and it was purely consensual. I'm not going to deny I do like I bit of rough play at times, but not every time I was with Grant was consensual, but it's my word versus his word.
"I loved Ellie, I never thought she would actually stoop this low. Wasting taxpayers time, your time, the courts time, for a fabricated story that she drummed up."
"How can you explain the police reports?" I knew Sandra was biding her time, she will get Grant to admit what he done, sooner or later and that I can't wait to see.
"Ellie has the need for rough sex, she always has."
"Did at any point that night did Ellie say no?" I knew I said it several times, but Grant was relentless and forced himself upon me.
"Not that I can recall, no."
"Why can't you recall?" Grant went a little red around the collar. When he is backed up into a corner, he tends to flush like a bitch.
"I was inebriated." I rolled my eyes and refrained myself from scoffing. He was more than inebriated but I don't know where he found his strength under that drunken state. Grant stared at me and my eyes never left his. I wasn't backing down, not now, not ever. For too long he controlled my life. and he will not intimidate me today or any day after today. I let out a sigh of relief when it was announced that we would be taking a break. I was needing air and out of this courtroom that I have been accustomed to.
As I stepped out into the open air, I inhaled deeply, resting my hands on my thighs, bending over and trying not to go into a full-blown panic attack mode. I'm aware that my case has also gathered some attention from the local press, so when a hand touched my lower back I stiffened then stood up and Carson engulfed me into a hug. "Jack sent me. I know you both have denied your relationship in the court, so she isn't willing to come out and support you with eyes everywhere."
"We aren't denying that we are in a relationship at all. They haven't once asked if we are together now. They solely focused on back then. If they had asked, I would have been open and honest. I'm not about to get myself chucked into jail for lying to the courts, am I?" I smiled at Carson who took the information in and nodded her head.
"That is an incredibly fair point. I'm hoping your lawyer will trip him up soon, he's being far too smooth for my liking."
"Mine too. Come on. I need to pee, and we are due back in fifteen minutes." We stepped back inside the court and I made my way straight to the bathroom. Feeling the relief overtake my body, I flushed the toilet, washed my hands and stepped out the bathroom door, straight into a sneering looking Grant.
"Well, well, well. Isn't it my darling ex-girlfriend." I froze on the spot and whilst there was people surrounding us, unless you knew why we were in court, you wouldn't have worked out that we were fighting each other to expose and to deny the truth.
"I'm not sure if it's wise that you are seen talking to me Grant, after all, there is still an injunction out on you. The only time you are allowed near me is in that court room, nowhere else."
"Do you think I honestly care? I want you to drop the charges. I will let you go; you can set up your life with Jack but leave me the fuck alone." He growled and I shook my head. I started to walk away when he grabbed my arm, squeezing it hard.
