Jack
We are standing outside the courthouse with the biggest smiles on our faces. I scooped Ellie up into my arms and looked up at her as she looked down. Putting her back on to her feet, she kissed me publicly and then my shoulders felt free of tension. I wasn't sure if she would see it through, by being out and proud but here we are. "Ugh. Will you two stop locking lips for ten seconds please?" I smiled against Ellie's lips and then gave Carson a pointed look.
"Hey. If you haven't realised, this is the first time we could do it publicly, well apart from inside the courthouse, so shut it." Carson let out a chuckle and I poked my tongue out at her in defiance.
"We wanted to know what you two are doing tonight. I think today is a cause for celebration, don't you?" I looked at Ellie. Normally Friday nights are our date night and this time, like nearly every other time, I'm letting her make this decision, it's a momentous day for her.
"It's our date night, but I'm okay to celebrate with you both as long as that's what Ellie wants as well." I looked at Ellie and she smiled.
"Why not. It's been a trying week. Scratch that, nearly a year. Let's go and blow off some steam!" Carson grinned and I just shook my head.
"Well, go home, get changed, meet us in town say for seven? That way we can decide on food and then go clubbing." I rolled my eyes. Clubbing in Carson's way is not my style, but I'm willing to go with the flow tonight.
"That sounds good. Ready to go home, Jack?" I nodded my head, and we said our goodbye's until later on.
When we got home, we sat down on the sofa for ten minutes and just let today sink in. It was great to see Grant being sent down but then Ellie seemed to get slammed with another revelation that she's yet to speak about. I'm going to bring it up, I have to. "So, a sister, huh?"
"I know, it's wild. From the way he said things, it sounds like he's disowned a daughter before because of her sexual orientation. I wasn't even aware that my dad had another family. But right now, I'm leaving that in Sandra's hands to help me with information on that. I can't deal with the information right now when we've just witnessed...him going to jail." Ellie can never bring herself to say Grant's name, with reason obviously.
"I know. Let's go and get showered and changed and head into town."
"Together?" I grinned and pulled her up on to her feet and led her to the bathroom.
Surprisingly, we were on time to meet Carson and Damien and we decided to go for a pub dinner where we could select finger foods or a main meal. It was nice to be out in public, not having to hide our affection for one another but we did tone it down in front of Carson to stop her snarky comments, even if they were in jest. "So, do you fancy going into the club where they have different music on each level?" I looked at my sister and I had no clue what she was talking about, I predominately stuck to the lesbian bars and I shrugged my shoulders.
"You will love it babe. They have a floor for rock, metal, indie etc." I arched my eyebrow at Ellie, and I could see Damien sigh with relief. I don't think he was up for the cheesy music the girls usually listen to compared to us both.
"I will give it a bash; don't say I didn't warn you if I don't like it." Entering the club, my first instinct was to cover my ears, and as I was playfully about to cover them, Damien laughed, both girls shot me a 'don't you dare' look and I promptly shoved my hands back into my jeans pockets. Making our way to the bar, I bought the first round and looked around to see what this club was all about. Half an hour later, Damien and I were making our escape upstairs to check out the other floors and finally found the floor that Ellie had mentioned and we both let out a sigh of relief.
"Pint?"
"On ya go bro. If I listen to Chesney Hawkes or some other cheese for another five minutes tonight, I think I will honestly scream." Damien let out a chuckle and we made our way to the bar and instantly sat on the stools in utter content.
"How are things going between you and Ellie?"
"They are going well. Don't get me wrong, it's not been easy hiding away from everything and not being our true authentic selves out in public, but after today it seems as though there will be no more hiding, that we can hold hands freely or express how we feel for each other without judgement or to be used against us in a court of law." I took a drink of my beer and continued. "I've given Ellie the reigns if you like on this relationship, to show that she shouldn't feel controlled by anything or anyone. But I miss being spontaneous at times. I've held back as I don't want to freak her out."
"That's understandable but at the same time, now you can be completely honest with her, no holds barred. One thing I've learned about you and your sister, you appreciate honesty and truth above everything else." I looked at Damien and smiled. He does know us both inside out and I'm grateful to have him in my life, and Carson's too. We continued making small talk from work to the football and about an hour later I felt a pair of familiar arms snake around my waist, making me smile.
"Well, hello there."
"Hello yourself. How on earth can you and Damien sit here and listen to this. You can't even dance to it." I laughed and shook my head.
"You don't dance, you head bop or mosh, whichever comes first." I tilted my head and smiled as a song started. "But this song, I can dance to." I twirled her around and slowly grinded my hips into hers and whilst the song played, Ellie got into the groove of it. When the chorus came around, I was aching to kiss her and as I leaned in as she pulled away. "What?"
"Is she honestly singing about a threesome?" I laughed and dipped my head and captured her lips with mine. Sliding my tongue in, hips swaying together slowly, building the momentum, I gradually pulled away from her lips, dragging my teeth along her bottom lip, pulling it with me and then finally letting it go.
"Yes, she is singing about a threesome."
"Just so you know, never happening. I'm too greedy to share you." I looked at Ellie and I know my eyes were conveying everything I felt about her, and I pulled her in tight, kissing her with a fierceness that I knew that would leave her breathless.

At the other side of the club, two women were enjoying the music, drinking and dancing and genuinely having a good time. They hadn't been out for a long time and were finally letting their hair down. Both work incredibly hard and since the birth of their child and make time to have a blow out every now and then. They have a vast amount of friends who they proudly call family, and the group are close together and will back each other up no end. "Is that Jack sucking face with a blonde?"
"I always knew she had a thing for blondes. She's checked your arse out often enough babe." The blonde shook her head and laughed and despite both of them growing older gracefully, they never lost touch with things that they love the most.
"Maybe so, but she kicks ass at everything she touches. We should go over and say hello." The two women made their way over to Jack's direction, which was near the bar as she had finally put Ellie down after dancing with her and kissing her hard.
"No way!! That's a load of shite. They aren't the best by far. My team is best by far." They had heard Jack bantering with the guy that was amongst the three women and the two women shook their head and laughed.
"Do we pinch her arse or should we not? I don't fancy upsetting her girlfriend. She's already been through a lot by what Jack has been telling us."
"Better not. Jack may see the funny side to it, but her girlfriend might not." The blonde tapped Jack's shoulder and Jack turned around and looked at the blonde.
"Well blow me down. You two finally come out to party!" Jack threw her arms around both women greeting them with a big smile and warm hugs. "Now, let me introduce you to my family."
