[Y/N] POV
"Afterwards, [Y/N] saved me and took me somewhere in the forest where we talked and cried," Skyla recounted peeking at you for a second before playing with your hand again, "I- I've never seen [Y/N] cry before but, it made me feel good that she cared about me and worried." Skyla ended, "Anyways, we must've cried ourselves to sleep that night cause we woke up in the forest. It was really pretty there and I got to see all the beautiful flowers before we went to John's to get muffins. After eating we then came here and now we are at this point."
The room fell into silence, the worst sound. You sat place in your steel seat, looking down at your sister. Your thoughts that were originally running rampant in chaos had become sluggish. Slowly processing the story that you were just told, allowing you to finally fit all the pieces of this hectic puzzle together. After you left to get the cotton candy, your sister's friends heard Skyla and went to go talk to her. Your 'friends' then noticed everyone when the performance was over and came over. Since the shadow never really liked monsters, he got upset at your monster friends and pushed Skyla off the edge because she protected them. As soon as that final piece snapped into place...
Something else turned off inside of you.
You smoothly pulled your hands away from Skyla's small grasp and slammed your hands onto the table. You quickly stood up causing your chair to roughly push back. Emitting a loud, ear-piercing screech within the room. Your hands stung a little as you dropped your eyes onto the table, a curtain of stray hairs covering your cold and deadly eyes. You noticed Officer Ryan strongly jump in front of you, snapping his attention towards you. His eyes widen as he stared at you, his eyebrows raised and curved. While your sister seemed to cower slightly beside you, wrapping her arms around herself. However, your mind was filled with a thick black and red fog clouding the frightened child.
"[Y/N] are you o-"
You didn't allow him to finish his question as you swiftly make your way to the only exit in the room. You aggressively grabbed the doorknob and turned it, roughly pulling it open and looking into the hallway. Behind you, you heard a heavy gasp followed by a similar screeching noise that you made before.
"[Y/N]," a voice shouted, "CALM DOWN!"
Ignoring the loud comment, you stepped through the doorway entering the hallway. Allowing the heavy door to close behind you as you ran in the pale white halls. Your shoes slammed loudly on the blue speckled tiles. You heard a series of thudding footsteps trailing not too far behind you. Along with distressed calls of your name and constant worries about you.
"[Y/N], PLEASE STOP!"
"[Y/N], WHAT'S WRONG?"
"WHAT HAPPENED [Y/N]?"
You simply shook them off as you were focused on one thing. Your laces bounced on the black sides of your combat boots with each step. Passing more people in uniform who looked at you in shock. Your cold [e/c] eyes scanned frantically at the upcoming signs, reading quickly and leading the way. Left, you thought as you turned, right now. Following the directions to your desired location, I'm almost there.
"SHE'S GOING TO THE LOCK UP!"
This seemed to catch some attention as officers quickly stood up. They began to make their way towards you, however, you were too fast. All those years of running from bullies, nightmares, faint whispers, and constant memories. As well as the daily gym classes that you ran on the track. Pretending that the laps that you made on the ground were actually in the sky, really helped at this moment. You quickly sped past them and made your final turn, looking at the doorway into the lock-up section.
