[Y/N] POV
After what felt like forever, you finally lost those twerps. You sighed in relief as you leaned against the closed door. Right now, you were at your little getaway inside the school. Well...
More like the outside.
You were on the rooftop, staring up into the sky. Damn did those boys knew how to run, you thought breathing heavily. The sky was beautiful right now. A mix of light blues, the fading of the clouds swirling within it, and the rays of light peeking between. It sent an itch inside you. Oh, how badly did you want to summon your wings, jump off this hell and be one with the sky. You could almost see yourself dancing with the sun and breaking through the fluffy clouds. You sadly smiled, dusted yourself off.
It was always nice to dream...
You opened the door and was greeted with a wire gate, that almost reached the top. You turned to one of the brick walls and ran up, grabbing the top of the gate and pulling yourself over. Landing perfectly on your feet without pain. You fixed your bag and made your way down the stairs, towards your first period. Science. As you walked down the mostly empty halls, you heard the bell ring.
"Well, it seems like I'm late," you sighed as you continued lazily. You were in no rush to hurry to class. Sure, you liked science but, Newton's Law could wait. As you near the door, you hear a muffled old voice, must be Mr. Walker. He was the oldest person inside the building. As well as the only one walking around with their wings freely. In the past scientists found a way for our wings to retract so, that we could go around places more easily. However, Mr. Walker believed that it was wrong to do it. According to him, we were given these wings for a reason, so why hide them.
Well, you could think of a couple of reasons why...
You pushed the door open and stood by the door frame. Everyone knew not to interrupt Mr. Walker, that was unless you wanted a long lecture. You observed as no one took note of you, guess I always was invisible.
"Very funny young lad," Mr. Walker smiled as he moved a bit forward. Moving his large brown owl wings, revealing the short skeleton and yellow lizard from before. "Now you, my young lad will be sitting with Louis," he said pointing to Louis who had his nose deep inside a book. The skeleton nodded and moseyed on over as Mr. Walker moved closer to the yellow lizard. Roughly placing a hand on her shoulder, making her jump in surprise. "And you, my dear will be sitting beside [Y-," he stopped as he pointed to your desk. He arched his brow in confusion, which made sense because you were always in class. Always. "Has anyone seen [Y/N]," he asked, scanning every one for a hint or clue on your whereabouts.
"I don't know sir but, I'll let you know when I see her," you joked causing him and everyone's head to turn sharply. Mr. Walker smiled and clapped his hands together.
"Ah, there you are [Y/N]," he beamed stepping towards you, pulling you inside. He pushed you closer until you were face to face with the lizard. "This will be your new lab partner, Alphys." Alphys keep her eye contact towards the floor as if it was a portal to Narnia.
"Nice to meet Alphys as you know I'm [Y/N]," you said softly as you held a hand out. Her eyes flicked up to your face as you placed a comforting smile.
"Ni- Nice t- to meet you too," she stuttered grabbing your hand and shaking it. It was quick and fast as if she just wanted to get it done and over with. However, unlike most, you weren't offended. You knew loads of people at your job like this, it would just take some time to break her shell.
"Alright, Alphys we best get to our seats," you advised lifting your head towards your desk. She nodded in agreement, lowering her gaze back to the floor. You turned and lead Alphys to your desk which, was in the very back of the class beside the window. On the way, you passed the small skeleton, who was eyeing you up and down. You simply smirked and winked towards him, leaving him with a shocked face. You chuckled quietly as you took your seat beside the window, putting your bag on the floor.
"Okay class since that is settled let's start with today's class on Invasive Species," Mr. Walker announced as he turned to the whiteboard with a marker. "So an Invasive Species is when a living organism that is not native to an ecosystem and causes harm. Some examples are...." You tuned him out as you looked out the window. Watching some birds fly so gracefully in the wind with the fallen leaves. Oh, how did you want to fly but...
It was always nice to dream...
