The woods are a lot thicker than I remember, you thought gliding through the woods. In the distance, you hear the others frantically calling your name. However, you continued to fly straight without looking back. Knowing that no one was following you through the brush. Mostly everyone's wings were too large to fit the tight gaps. While the people with the smaller wings were too unknown with the area. Not to mention, that they most likely had a bad reaction time. Meaning that they would've hurt their wings by hitting all of the branches unlike you. Bending your wings slightly and twisting swiftly, avoiding the fallen trees and overgrown bushes. Snapping your eyes to each faded ribbon, approaching your destination.

~Flashback~

"[Y/N] tie a ribbon there," your mother smiled sweetly. Pointing to the brown maple tree on the right.

"Ok mommy," you answered as you flew over to it. Tightly holding onto a bag filled with long ribbons, which were your favorite color. Your open jacket fluttering in the wind as you glided between the trees, your wings perfectly within the space. As you neared the tree, you began to stand up flapping lightly to help keep balance. Landing gracefully onto the ground, a light crunch of the leaves underneath your [f/c] sneakers. Quickly you pulled out a ribbon from the bag and tied a pretty bow onto the tree.

"Good job sweetie," your mother praised you as she reached you. Softly ruffling your hair, sending you into a fit of giggles. "That was the last one," she disclosed.

"Yeah," you cheered as you made your wings vanish. You shoved the bag into your pocket and grabbed your mother's hand from your head. Holding onto it, looking up and staring into her [e/c] eyes. She smiled sweetly at you and lightly squeezed it before walking out of the woods with you. Walking back to the car to have dinner with your dad.

~End Flashback~

You shook your head lightly, shaking away your memories. I can't deal with those coming up right now, you thought as you peeked at Skyla. Her head was buried into your chest as she shivered from the cold. She wasn't used to the strong breeze due to the obvious fact that, you never flew with her before. Don't worry Skyla, you thought looking up finding the last ribbon. We're here.

Breaking through the trees, you flew into a small clearing. It looks exactly how I remember it, you thought with a bittersweet smile. Sunlight peaked through the leaves in the small treetop. Making the small lake glisten and the large rock in the middle, appear like something from the little mermaid. The breeze gently dancing with the yellow, pink, and white flowers. Birds singing sweetly in the background along with the skittering of woodland animals.

This was you and your mother's secret spot. She took you here for your birthday years ago. This was a place she would go when she was younger. Whether she was mad, sad, or simply just needed to think, she would come here. Listening to the sounds of the woods and talking to the animals. You could remember you two sitting here. She would sing songs to you and braid your hair while time flew by. She would coach you about summoning your wings and flying. She would come here and swim with you while your father worked during the summer.

After her death, you would come here to mourn and cry. Letting your tears water the grass and screaming for your mother. Calling for her to come back and stop everything. To stop your sadness, to stop your pain, to stop the pitiful looks, to stop being dead, and to simply stop your father. However, your screams were never heard.

You were still sad.

You were still in pain.

You were still getting pitiful looks.
