After what felt like a second of daydreaming about flying, half of the class was over. A small packet was placed in front of you, snapping you back to reality.

"Alright, class I want this completed for homework," Mr. Walker announced as the class groaned. He straightened up and slowly began to eye everyone strongly, causing all whines and complaints to cease. He slouched again and kept passing them out, continuing, "As I was saying. Since I'm so nice, I'm giving you the rest of the class to work on it. So use this time wisely." You simply sighed, bent over and searched for a pencil in your bag. After a bit of pushing and shoving things, you found it and got to work.

See most people would consider you a nerd, for example now. You weren't paying attention to the class at all. You didn't take notes or pictures, you didn't even listen in on what the teacher was saying at all. However, you were zooming through this packet like it was a simple one-sided worksheet. And it wasn't like you were guessing or anything, no you just knew the answers to every single question.  In at least 10 minutes you were done with the 6-page packet. So yeah you were a bit of a nerd. You lifted your head up and scanned the bland science room. Everyone seemed to still be working including your new deskmate. You took a peek at her worksheet and notice that she got some wrong.

"Hey you got that wrong," you whispered quietly as you pointed the question. Alphys took a glance at what you were pointing at, rereading her answer. She looked at it confused and read it a couple of times until realization spread across her face.

"O- Oh I di- did," she confessed as she fixed it. A red blush grew on her face, most likely due to embarrassment.

You reassured her smiling, "There is no need to be embarrassed everyone messes up." She looked up at you as she pulled on a small smile.

"Th- thanks I nee- needed that," she admitted as she gestured to her paper, "I don- don't really understand th- the concept of this and I'm having so- some trouble."

"Well you're in luck," you said as you leaned back in your chair smirking widely. "You have the best helper sitting right beside you," you grinned pointing to yourself with your thumbs. She giggled quietly as her smile grew a bit wider.

"Re- Really you're going to he- help me," she questioned as she glanced at your closed packet, "What about yo- your work?"

"Psh," you stated as you waved a hand, "I finished that ages ago." She stared at you wide-eyed with her jaw a bit lose.

"What," she whisper yelled with her eyes bulging a bit. You stifled a laugh with your hand, in a bit Alphys joins in with her own hand covered laugh. After a bit, you both calmed down and sighed, looking at each other. You felt weird inside but, it was a good weird.

"Okay let's get to work", you advised as you raised up a bit from your chair. Quietly shuffling closer to Alphys, pulling your chair behind you. She scooted over and made some more room for you, you stopped and sat back down in your new location. You smiled, "Let's get started." With that, you both got to work, unbeknownst to you that a short skeleton watched your entire chat.

"And that's it," you cheered as glanced at your watch, 30 seconds until class ended. You just had finished helping Alphys with the packet. It took a while due to you having to sketch it out so, she could get a good mental image. Then an additional 10 minutes of her complimenting your art skills while you denied having any. However, you weren't going to lie but it was the most fun you ever had in school.

"Th-thank you," she said as she held the packet between her claws, "I woul- wouldn't have been able to com- complete it with- without you." You turned to see her staring at you in gratitude which made you a bit uncomfortable. Nobody has ever looked at you like that, other than your sister. You waved her off and glanced at your watch, 20 seconds until class ends.

"Yes, you would have," you smiled as you put your packet and pencil in your [f/c] bag. You stood up and put your chair in its rightful place. Like clockwork as soon as you pulled your bag over your shoulder, every human put their stuff away while Alphys and the skeleton looked confused.

"Wh- What are you do- doing," she questioned as she looked at the clock on the wall, "We st- still have 5 min- minutes." You smirked and stared at the quickest moving hand on your watch, 5 seconds.

"No, we have 5, 4, 3, 2..." you trailed off as the bell rang. Alphys seen shocked as she snapped from the wall clock to you with her mouth hanging a bit open. "All of the clocks in the school are 5 minutes fast," you teased as you walked away waving behind you, "See ya around Alphys. Have a good day."

"Hey," she shouted causing you to turn to her as she held a claw up. "Wh- what class do you have ne- next," she asked as she rushed over to you with her stuff juggling in her hands. You studied her and thought, Why does she want to know?

"I have math next," you hesitated, "Why?" Nobody has ever asked you that unless they wanted to pull some shit on you. Alphys pulled out a piece of paper, scanning it quickly and mumbling.

"I wa- wanted to see if we had the same c- class," she explained as a small frown came onto her face, "But it seems like I have his- history." You tilted your head a bit in confusion, why would she be upset that we don't have the same class? "Well, th- then I'll see you [Y/N]. May- maybe we could me- meet during lunch," she smiled as bounced a bit on her feet. Wait did I just make a friend, you asked yourself in your head. You observed her and noticed as she wasn't shaking nor shivering near you. Also since your chat, she is actually looking at you instead of the white tiled floor. However, you read all the signs of a newfound friendship you still had a burning idea in your mind.

She is just pretending...

You pulled on a smile and shook your head. Your smile didn't reach your (e/c) eyes. It faltered and seemed forced. However, only the trained eye could detect this. "Sorry Alphys but, I have some stuff I need to do during lunch," replied as she frowned and made a small 'oh' sound, making you feel a bit guilty.

Stop lying to yourself, she doesn't give a damn about you...

"Well, see ya Alphys," you ended as you walked out the door into the sea of students. As you sped off to class, keeping watch of your surroundings for certain students. You could see the look Alphys gave you when you told her no.

She would have just leave you after she learns...

You simply shook your head pushing away your thoughts. You laid low as you felt glares and stares pierce you.  Along with whispers like 'Freak', 'What a loser', or 'No Wings'. You brushed them off as you entered your class. You plopped down in your seat as you were given the review for your upcoming test. You sighed as you got to work burying all of your thoughts and worries, trying to only think about the quadratic formula.

Man, was today going to be a long day...
