You smiled softly at the thought.
Could I really have friends?
In the distance, you hear the school bell ringing. Signaling that the day has started. You studied as students filed into the building. Chatting with friends, nogging one another on the head, and some holding hands. Yet as they passed the tree that you sat on. Their eyes would search for you so, that they could make it known that you were inferior.
It was another day, yippee...
"Hey punk get down or we're going to be late for class," a voice called below you. Snapping you out of your thoughts. Peeling your attention away from the body of glaring students. You find Undyne lifting her hands slightly. Motioning for you to hurry up. While the others stood beside her, waiting.
You weren't going to lie to yourself but, this felt extremely weird. You were used to dragging on throughout the day. Keeping your head low and trying not to tick anyone off. But, ever since these kids came to school things...
Have been changing.
You sighed as pulled your legs onto one side of the branch. Gently pushing off with your hands, landing on your feet. You easily dusted yourself off, flicking off peeled pieces of bark. As well as a few leaves that found their way into your hair.
"I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU IN SIT IN THE TREE," Papyrus stated as he helped you. Pulling a green leaf with orange rims out of your hood.
"I don't know," you shrugged lying, "I just like it.". There was a reason because everything had a reason. However, he didn't need to know that.
"HUMANS ARE SO STRANGE," Papyrus sighed removing the last leaf off you.
"C- c- come on guys," Alphys stuttered, "were going t- to be late." You glanced at your broken watch, to see that you had 5 minutes until the bell rang. And your first period was all the way across the building.
"Crap our classes are all the way across the building," shouted Undyne. Staring at her phone with a pressed against her forehead. "Let's go," she cheered as she grabbed Alphys bridle style, racing to the building. Causing her is squeak quietly and cling onto Undyne.
"HEY WAIT UP," Papyrus yelled throwing sans over his shoulder, trailing behind them. Who was perfectly fine, making you wonder if this happened often. You chuckled lightly and shook your head.
"Come on punk," Undyne hollered at the doorway into the school.
"l- let's go," Alphys said louder than usual but, not completely yelling. Papyrus began to approach them with sans, facing you.
"YES COME ON HUMAN," Papyrus cheered along as he waved for you to follow. In his arms, sans twisted his head around and waved as well.
"come on kid," sans smiled. A smile spread across your face, one that wasn't forced or fake. I can get use to this, you thought as you ran with them through the halls.

Your first three periods went by really fast.
During science, the class took notes on the new unit. Deoxyribonucleic acid. A self-replicating material that is present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information. Also known as the common term DNA. However, you already knew that. Unlike everyone else who was scribbling notes in their book. You were working on your history project, which was no problem with Mr. Walker.
He knew you understood science as if it was the back of your hand. In the past, he tried to get you into a higher class, however, you denied it. Explaining how you were happy with your current level. When in reality, it was a good time to get other things done. After class, Alphys tried to invite you to lunch again. But, you told her that you were going to work on something with sans. Which, she understood thankfully.
For math, it was simply the same old, same old. Trying to figure out what x in an unlikely equation. Like who in the world would actually buy 100 melons? But, whatever.
Art class was actually pretty fun. You completed the finishing touches on your painting. Adding fines lines on your silhouette so, that you see the details in the outline. When you were done, Papyrus called you over to his easel. He wanted you to see his great painting, which was his exact words but louder. It was Papyrus, standing in a striking pose. His hands were on his hips as he stared to the left. His albino carrion crow wings were out and he was wearing his flying outfit. The painted Papyrus was surrounded by blue trees. That looked kind of like evergreen trees, but blue. Not to mention, how there was a wooden station behind him. His painting was pretty good, at least better than some students. However, you couldn't find any blending. So, for the rest of the time, you helped him and talked. It turned out his painting was based in Snowdin. One of the few places in the Underground. It was nice.
Right now, you were waiting by the staircase beside the lunchroom. Tapping your foot against the dirty white tiles. Scanning the hallway for a short skeleton. You sighed lightly as you glanced at your watch. Goddamnit, what's taking him so long?!
"hey [Y/N]," a voice called. You lifted your head to find sans, moseying towards you with a lunch tray.
"Hey sans. What took you so long?"
"oh, i had to explain to paps that i couldn't stay for lunch."
"Makes sense," you said turning towards the stairs, "Come on let's go." You climbed up the stairs with sans trailing behind.
"where are we going," sans asked confused. "we already passed the second floor."
"I know," you answered without looking back, "Nobody knows how to get here so, it's the perfect spot to hide out and work." Behind you, you heard a faint 'oh' as you began to near the wire gate. After a couple of steps, you stopped and opened your bag. Shuffling through until you grabbed a small metal key. You rarely used it but, now that you had someone else. You peeked over your shoulder to see sans huffing a bit. You could get used to using it.
"what are we doing here," sans questioned facing the wire gate and door. You removed your bag, handing it to him.
"Give me a second," you smirked slightly. You turned to one of the brick walls and ran up, grabbing the top of the gate and pulling yourself over. Landing perfectly on your feet without pain. You saw sans face and his mouth was open. "Didn't I tell you before to close that," you teased, putting the key into the lock.
"wait how did you," sans doubted, "huh." You opened the wire door and gestured for him to come in. However, he stood there still trying to process it.
"Come on sans," you chuckled, "you saw me doing something similar earlier."
"yeah but, that was a tree!"
"Whatever," you grinned, "Let's go." Walking to the other door with sans following behind you. You opened the door, letting in a crisp breeze and bright light. You held it open, allowing sans through. His eyes were so wide, that you could barely see the black in the eyesocket. Stepping onto the roof, walking in front of him with your arms out. "Welcome to the roof sans," you congratulated him.
"wow..."
Yeah... I can get used to this.
