"hey are you okay," sans asked.

"Yeah, why," you said avoiding eye contact as you entered Grillby's. Quickly studying the interior and people inside Grillby's. Using it as a silent excuse for your lack of eye contact.

A warm and comforting feeling washed over you. Almost making you drop your guard and relax. Almost. A soft light displayed the bar and dinner. Most of the walls were lined with red wooden booths yet, the farthest wall from the door held shelves filled with different drinks. Drinks that would've sent you straight into the basement. However, these were more colorful and smelled sweeter. But, then the bitter, brown, cheap beer bottles that the shadow drank. Sitting at a round booth were a group of dog monsters, almost perfectly in the iconic dogs playing poker painting. You noticed what seemed to be a drunk bunny girl on the far right, mumbling things into her drink. You could only pick up bits and pieces but, you could have sworn she said something about 'hot guys'. Sitting behind her was a large plant and at the bar were a couple of humans chatting with a fish and bird.

"i saw that dude shove you," sans claimed. From the corner of your eye, you could see him shoving his hands into his pockets. Quite roughly, slightly pulling his black-furred jacket down along with it. You didn't have to look sans in the eye to know that he was staring at you. You could feel his bright white eyelights boring into you intensely. Which simply made you question how he even had them in the first place.

"Oh that was an accident," you lied still not fully looking at him. "I wasn't looking where I was going so I must've bumped into him," you explained with a small shrug. Silently praying that he would simply drop it.

From what you learned about sans from the past few weeks, was that he is smart. He may seem like a lazy bonehead but, in reality, he was anything but that. One, he would purposely trail behind others while he was flying. Acting as if he was a lot slower than he truly was. Letting others think they are better than him. When he was actually extremely fast. Two, he was always vigilant. He would pretend to be sleeping at times, only to listen in and gather information. Learning stuff that others don't want him to know. Three, he wasn't as soft as he seemed. You could still remember the time he yelled at you. And the time, you accidentally caught him warning a kid not to mess with Papyrus. His single eyelight blazing a bright blue as he lifted the kid by their collar. You were lucky he didn't see you--or did he--but, it simply adds more to his character. sans is smart. Smart enough to know, what others should know about him and what they shouldn't. You guess he didn't count on knowing someone who did the exact same thing...

You.

sans raised a bone brow and opened his mouth. Obviously about to try to coax the truth out of you. You bit your lip thinking, please could some random miracle come and save m-

"Hey [Y/N] and sans what are you two doing," someone shouted. You turned to see your sister standing on a booth seat with her hands around her mouth. You silently thanked her in your head, I'm so going to buy her ice cream later!  "We found a table! Come on," Skyla called waving you guys over.

"Skyla how many times have I told you not to do that," you scolded lightly as you moseyed over to the table. Trying to act as if she didn't just save you from an interrogation. Behind you, you heard a faint huff which you knew belonged to sans.

"It's not my fault that you were taking so long," Skyla pointed out climbing down and sitting down. She shifted and shuffled between Papyrus and Frisk at the far end of the booth. While Undyne sat beside Papyrus and Alphys sat next to Undyne. Leaving you next to sans... Damn it.

"I DO AGREE WITH THE TINY [Y/N]," Papyrus added folding his gloved hands neatly onto the table, "WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TWO SO WE COULD ORDER."

"Even so you shouldn't stand on other people's stuff," you countered as you slid into the seat beside Frisk, "especially in public." Skyla puffed her cheeks out and sighed. You reached over Frisk and ruffled Skyla's hair. "However, I'll let it slide this time," you smiled as your sister looked up at you. Suddenly you felt the seat next to you dip, you turned to see sans sitting next to you.

"ah grillby would've been fine with it anyway," sans explained dropping the conversation from before, "you should see what the others have done in the past."

"Oh yeah like this one time," Undyne trailed off telling you a story from when they were in the underground.

It was really fun at Grillby's. You and the others joked and told stories over your food. Like the time when sans put about 30 catdogs on Frisk's head. Or when you first met Undyne and beat her in L.A with the guess the poem game--she even kept her agreement and paid for your meal, even though you told her she didn't need to. You even met the owner of Grillby's and let's just say that he was on fire. Literally! He was a bright orange fire in a snazzy uniform. A long white button-up with a black vest over it, plus a black bowtie. He also had black dress pants and black dress shoes. Not to mention, he also wore rectangle glasses over his white-lined eyes. He was a good guy, extremely chill and laid back even though he was a ball of fire. After eating, you guys began to walk home still laughing and joking.

"Alright this is our way," you said pointing your thumb to the right. Pointing down the street, Owler Lane. You could already see your house and the perfect girl's house from where you stood.

"Aw do we really have to go," Skyla whined tugging your sleeve lightly.

"Sky you know it's near your bedtime," you pointed out with a sigh. You really didn't want to go either, however, the thought of the shadow's face if you came home late. Wasn't something you wanted to see...

"But-"

"TINY [Y/N] YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO YOUR SISTER," Papyrus advised, "ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE GREAT PAPYRUS FLY TOMORROW IN THIS YEAR'S FLYING PERFORMANCE!" He waved his hand up and placed it on his chest, smiling widely. Where those sparkles around him, you thought as you looked closer.

"Oh yeah, I don't want to miss that," your sister cheered loudly, "COME ON [Y/N]!" Skyla began to pull your sleeve in the direction of your house, causing you to lose your balance a bit. Lifting up a leg and turning towards your sister, who was dragging you along. You looked over your shoulder and waved bye to the others.

"GOODBYE, HUMANS," Papyrus smiled waving furiously. If he wasn't fused together by magic, he would've lost his arm.

"Bye," Frisk signed as they waved goodbye.

"See ya punks," Undyne yelled saluting in a playful manner.

"B- B- Bye," Alphys stuttered with a wave.

"see ya tomorrow kiddos," sans chuckled obviously finding it funny.

"Bye," Skyla shouted dragging you all the way to your house. While the others turned and walked themselves home. However, as you turned to the path that led to your door. You passed a slightly dirty grey car in the driveway. Your eyes stayed on it as you kept being dragged thinking, What is that doing her-

"Well look who's home," a deep voice chided.

You snapped your head towards the direction and your throat became dry. You instantly felt 3 times smaller like the boys who were picking on Alphys earlier. Your mind seemed to shut down, only allowing one final thought to pass through.
