The breeze felt great against your skin. The icy claws scratching across your face, redding your checks and the tips of your ears. Gently swaying the hair in your ponytail and [f/c] satchel. Your hands in your leather jacket pockets, holding the sides down as the breeze crept inside and up your arms. The cold wind fighting against the many layers that you wore. Finally giving you some relief from the intense heat you were feeling before. You never take off your jacket...
People could accidentally see the scars.
The street was lined with small stores, ranging between your common corner store to a tiny boutique. This attracted a lot of people, each store had at least 1 person enter at a flap of a hummingbird's wing.
You silently hated it.
As you strolled along with the others, you could feel a mountain of stares on you. Everyone knew about you--well at least the humans did. Being the only person who didn't fly willingly, sure made you popular. Rumors spread that you never learned how to fly, that you lost a wing as a child, or that you simply didn't have any wings to begin with. It was quite annoying when they were all far from the truth.
You lifted your head from the cracked sidewalk, looking ahead of you. Skipping not too far in front of you was Skyla. She was talking with Papyrus, sans, and Frisk in an excited manner. Using the bit of sign language that you taught her over the past few weeks. However, she heavily used Papyrus as a translator. While sans would throw in a pun every now and again. Earning groans from Skyla and Papyrus and a playful threat from Undyne. Who was beside them holding hands with Alphys. Swinging it back and forth like the cheesy couple they were, listening to the others joke and laugh. They were cute together. A small smile appeared on your face as you watched the others, trailing behind.
"Are we there yet," your sister asked for the hundredth time. It's only been a couple of minutes since Willow let you leave your shift. Allowing you and Skyla to hang out with your 'friends'. You weren't going to lie to yourself but, it was a nice change of pace. For the last few years, its been nothing but school and work. Never taking a break to sniff the flowers and breath...
It's not like he ever let you.
"no but we're close," sans answered.
"Can't you just tell me where we're going," Skyla whined as she turned around. Walking backwards, in order to stare sans face to face. She pouted her lips slightly and gave him her signature puppy dog eyes. Which everyone melted to expect you, having to deal with it for years.
"nope," sans smirked. Well, apparently it worked on everyone except you and sans. I guess Frisk or Papyrus must do it often, you thought. You chuckled quietly thinking about Papyrus giving sans puppy dog eyes. It must have been both adorable and funny.
"Ugh," Skyla groaned suddenly looking at you, "[Y/N] sans won't tell me where we're going." Pointing a finger at sans in a tattletale fashion.
"Okay," you shrugged, "And?"
"And I want to know," Skyla said running over to you. Lightly pulling your sleeve, allowing air to creep up your wrist and flashing your watch. Trying to use the same tactic that she used on sans.
"Well then wait," you smirked ruffling her hair. Instantly she dropped the cutesy look and softly swatted your hand away in playful anger.
"Fine," she huffed puffing her cheeks out. Crossing her arms in a childish manner, marching back up to the front with the others. You chuckled lightly and smiled, approaching the group as they stopped at the crosswalk.
When suddenly, your eyes get drawn to something that wasn't there before. It was a new shop. It was covered with dark red and brown bricks. Along with gold trim around the large window and door. Beside the door was a pot filled red flowers and a couple of lights. From where you stood you could see that it was occupied with monsters and humans--mostly monsters--eating, chatting, and playing card games. On the top of the building, a bright sign sat in big bold letters. GRILLBY'S. It seemed like a nice place.
A loud buzzer rang, pulling your attention from Grillby's. Looking ahead, you see everyone crossing the street. Silently you strolled along, following the group. You passed some smaller monsters like Snowdrakes, Moldbygg, Pyrope, and Madjick. Along with a couple of humans, who all eyed you, judging you and your every move.
"Freak," someone whispered as they walked past you. Lightly shoving your shoulder, causing you to step back. You clenched your jaw a bit but, kept moving. Your eyes scanning the others hoping they didn't notice. Papyrus, Frisk, Undyne, Alphys, and Skyla were gone. Having already disappeared into the building you were staring at earlier. None of them taking note of the small incident. However, sans stood at the door holding it open. Staring at you with dark eye sockets. Of course, he was the only one to notice, you groaned quietly in your head as you neared him.
A/N
It seems that no one has voted for any of the options. Well, I guess I got a bit too excited. I'll give it one more week but, I'm pretty sure it'll end up the same...
Welp, whatever I can't say I didn't try.
So have a great day and be you boo!
Enjoy the calm before the storm...
