Sans POV

I couldn't get it out of my head. It couldn't have been her...

Right?

I peeked at [Y/N] for the 20th time since class started, or was it the 21st. I don't know but, just like a couple of minutes ago she was still happy. She was smiling and chatting with Alphys, while they worked on the assignment together. Her smile was wide and bright, as well as her laugh. Nonetheless, my eyes fell to her bag. Goddammit, I cursed to myself as I glared at my blank worksheet, why can't I fucking think straight?! I groaned and placed my head onto the long black desk. I sat there for a bit while my head span around. Flashing the memory of the soak person walking away and the memory of a happy [Y/N]. There was no way it was her. This went on until the bell rang, letting everyone know the class was over. I snapped up to see [Y/N] walking out the door.

"D- Do you li- like her," a small voice stuttered beside me. I turned to find Alphys beside me, holding her books in her arms and staring at me.

"no Al," I sighed as I got up and put my papers into my bag. She wouldn't understand.

"Well, th- then why were you st- staring at her all cl- class," she inquired. I stiffened for a second, feeling my cheeks heat up from embarrassment.

"n- n- none of your business," I said as I slinged my bag over my shoulder. I pulled my hood up, trying to hide my probably blue face. Rushing out the door, hoping to get away from Alphys. Praying that I wasn't part of her newest ship.

"Sans," Alphys teased, trailing behind me. "You like her," she said, not stuttering. Fuck, I groaned picking up my pace, I'm her new ship. However, she continued to follow me, teasing me non-stop. Until we got to our next class, which also had Undyne and Papyrus already sitting.

"no, I don't," I repeated as I slumped down into my seat beside Papyrus. Why couldn't she just stop?

"What you two talking about," asked Undyne looking back and forth between us. I tried to open my mouth trying to say 'nothing' so, I wouldn't have to deal with 2 shippers. But, Alphys spoke up quickly, without missing a single beat.

"Sans was staring at [Y/N] and I think he has a crush on her," Alphys answered as she sat down. She had a broad grin on her face as Undyne's jaw became slack for a second.

"REALLY," Undyne shouted as she sat up quickly, eyes wide.

"no, I don't," I sighed as I pulled down my hood. I rubbed the back of my skull, closing my eyes. "i'm just worried."

"Worried," Undyne vacillated with a small waver in her voice, "What for?" Her newfound excitement diminishing as quick as it came, [Y/N] was her friend.

"i saw someone with the same bag as [Y/N] walk away soaking wet during lunch," I informed them, " and they looked exactly like the person who saved Paps." Everyone was quiet as they took in this new information. We all knew [Y/N] saved Papyrus so, she could have been the one soaking wet.

"DO YOU THINK IT WAS THE HUMAN," Papyrus said, saying the question that was on everyone's mind. We all sat in silence until Alphys' eyes widened as if she just realized something.

Let's just hope its something good.

"N- Now that I t- think about it," Alphys hesitated tapping her claws together, "she was wear- wearing different clothes i- in the afternoon." I don't know why but, my soul dropped at the realization.

"no...," I whispered quietly feeling my eyelights disappear. An image flashed in my head, a girl in a white shirt with a black hoodie on top. Opening the gym doors in a swift motion, causing her [f/c] bag to swing as she walked inside. The rips in her black jeans stretched with each step and she wore black sneakers. Her face turned so, I could see her [h/c] hair and the ticked-off expression on her face. I brought my head into my hands and sighed loudly. God damn it [Y/N], I thought as I ran my hands down my face.

"No, no," Undyne faltered as her eyes stretched with shock, "It can't be her!" She threw her hands up a bit, being dramatic like always. "She's a good person," Undyne argued, "Not to mention, she's always so happy and upbeat. A bit sassy but, not enough to have water poured onto her." Undyne suddenly became quiet as she placed her hand just above her black eye patch. "It's gotta be someone else."

Everyone was quiet and the silence was eating everyone.

"FROM WHAT LITTLE I'VE SEEN FROM THE HUMAN, SHE SEEMS TO BE OKAY," Papyrus reported as he tried to lift the mood. "ANYWAYS IF IT WAS THE HUMAN DON'T YOU THINK SHE WOULD'VE WENT HOME," he pointed out.

"Ye- yeah," Alphys agreed with a small smile. Spirits lifting up, the idea of her only friend other than us being safe.  Undyne slowly nodding more confident over time.

"sure," I lied, pretending to agree. However, I was still unsure. Why did humans have to be so complicated?  First, the kid and all of their resets and now, [Y/N] and her...

EVERYTHING!

The bell then rang, letting us know that class started. We all turned to the board, drowning out our thoughts in order to learn. Yet, floating, on the top of my head, was [Y/N] and a single question.

When did I start caring about her?
