Dane's Point Of View

"Well sure, yeah, I mean, acting is kind of this never-ending quest for me. It's something that, no matter how hard I work at it, I'll never be as good as I want to be. So it's about continuing to challenge myself and continuing to do films I'm passionate about. And um... that's the plan" I concluded.

"Thank you very much for letting us interview you, I mean it's an honor to stand here in your presence " the interviewer flattered me.

"It's my honor honestly" I said.

"My publisher and all of your fans would like to know how it feels to be playing your idol, James Dean, in the movie Life alongside with Robert Pattinson " the reporter asked. I shrugged my shoulders and bit my lip.

"It's an indescribable feeling" I said with a smile.

"So humble and talented. To my understanding, it says here you have a fiancee. Is she responsible for keeping you thankful and humble?" They asked.

"Correction, she's not my fiancee. She's my other half, a.k.a. my wife" I raised my hand and showed them my ring. Her smile started invading my mind making me smile.

"Wow, congratulations. When did you two tie the knot?"

"About a month ago. Kim and I decided on not making a big deal out of our wedding because we felt like we didn't have to prove our love to anyone. She's my adoration "

"I can definitely say your loyal fans will shed some tears once they read about your secret wedding" one of the women interviewers said.

"Oh I'm sorry but keep in mind that although you can't spontaneously kiss me, you can guarantee a hug from me with a lot of love" I laughed.

"Tell me Dane, what are your thoughts on acting"

"I wake up every day and I'm amazed at how lucky I am that I get to do what I love to do which is to act, and the fact that the byproduct of that is fame, uh, it's not a bad byproduct of what you love to do" I took my time answering that question.

"Perfect. One last question Mr. DeHaan. What can you tell us about your temporary leave of absence from work, the press, etc. that left the world wondering and asking what was going on. I know it's been quite a while since this happened but the question still remains unanswered and is a frequently asked topic to this day"

"Nothing bad occurred, I just happened to be victim to a fast lane lifestyle that barely left me with coherent thoughts which led to a necessary temporary leave of absence. My wife is the one to thank really. She helped me through it although at times I knew it was incredibly difficult for her to watch me in that state of mind. All I can say about that is, I was lost for a while. I needed to find myself and that's what I did" the words slipped out of my mouth like water.

"It was a pleasure meeting you Mr. DeHaan. Congratulations on all your success with Prada, movies, modeling, etc. It won't be long before you're winning an academy award"

"You're too nice, it was a pleasure meeting all of you. I'm afraid work calls once again, thank you for the lovely afternoon" I excused myself politely.

I walked down the lonely corridor to my dressing room where I found Kim picking at a raspberry.

- it's not proper manner to play with your food - I said as I sat down next to her.

- how was your interview - she asked.

- great, a little self centered, but great. Let's talk about you now -

- me? We should be talking about you and your birthday. What would you like to do for your special day. Sleep all day? Watch television? Eat massive amounts of junkfood? - she tried to change the subject. I quickly changed it back though.

- what do you want to do? - I asked in a nonchalant manner which I could tell drove her crazy. Kim was uptight, stubborn (just like me), and somewhat driven by enlightened thinking. It was all about the logic and facts with her but I was the complete opposite. Being a romantic to heart I preferred intuition and creativity to "this is, it's been proven, it's scientifically impossible."

- I've got it - I said interruption her pondering.

- got what - her hands that previously rested on her lap now invaded her face, to be specific, her hands invaded her rosy  cheeks.

- I know what I want to do for my birthday and Valentine's day - I said with a big smile. She gave me a "go on" face which I absolutely hated yet loved. Without thinking I got up to my feet and kneeled down on one knee before her.

- Valentine's day isn't very far from my birthday. I can't keep pretending we're married because it's killing me knowing how much I want it to be a reality. How about it, will you do me the honor being my wife. Kim Knight, will you marry me? - my question left her dumb, death, and blind.

- I-I-I... Dane, hun, are you thinking clearly. We've talked about this, I thought you understood why I wanted to wait - she placed her soft small hand under my chin.

- my mind understands perfectly but it's my heart that won't stop pestering me. It's not pestering though because I want it as much as it wants it too. Don't you want to be my wife - I tried to maker her understand/ see my point.

- of course I do but... -

- no buts - I interrupted her. - it's a simple yes or no -

- no - she said leaving me dumb, death, and blind.

- I respect your decision - I said with a pain in my chest.

- no because I haven't been asked properly - she flashed me the biggest smile I've ever seen.

- well that can be fixed. Dinner, tomorrow night, don't forget -

- I live with you so forgetting is not an option - a small laugh escaped her lips.

- it definitely isn't - I said while reaching for her hand. - let's go home -

In the past two months a lot has changed. Kim and I no longer live in a hotel suite because we opted to having more freedom and privacy so we bought a house in the suburbs which had little to no people in the neighborhood. We had also sold our other house in Providence, Rhode Island because what was the point in paying a mortgage on a house we only lived in one month out of the year. Our relationship these days was us being plain careless, having minor arguments over foolish things, and babysitting our elderly neighbors chihuahua. Things were fine.

- I won't disappoint you this time, I promise - I neared closer to her.

- you never disappoint me, you simply worry me from time to time - she kept her hand very low on my cheek.

- I'll try not to worry you - I said as I caressed her cheekbone. We simultaneously moved into each other, she closed her eyes, my breath fanned her face for a second before I did what I had been craving all day. All of my stress immediately vanished as I gave Kim my heart, as did she.

- I love you - I said when I pulled apart from her entrancing reign. She worded the words out too and then rested her head on my shoulder.
Don't forget to vote and comment and thanks for the recent follows, they make my day.
