chapter 3

Today was Friday and I already had an essay due next week for English.  Dane had not talked to me since I gave him a ride home, the only time we talked was when our teachers forced us to. I tried to be friendly and patient with him but he showed no respect for me. I decided not to obsesse over him like everyone else was doing because I saw no point in it. Everytime I went to my locker, he was there making out with a different girl. Since I wasn't in the mood to go to tutorial with my friends today, I decided to go out to the field and try to start my essay. After a few minutes of pathetic attempts at trying to decipher Shakespeare I gave up and started to play with my phone. As I was listening to 5 Seconds of Summer, I felt someone touch my shoulder.

- do you mind if I join - a boy with curly brown hair I had never seen before asked.

- no, not at all -

We ended up talking for the rest of tutorial about our likes, dislikes and even our personal lives. We both laughed when we found out that The Ceremonies was our favorite band and their song Nightlight was also our personal favorite.

- I haven't laughed this hard in a while - I admitted

- me either - Harry said

- oh, wait. I just realized. I don't even know your name -

- my name is Harry Styles - he said cheerfully while breaking out into a smile

- my name is Kim Knight and you have a really cute smile -

- really? - he said - My ex girlfriend back in England hated it. She always said I looked like a dork when I smiled -

- well she must have had some serious issues because I so happen to think that your smile is lovely - I said while looking into his eyes

I could feel Harry's breath close to my face as he slowly leaned towards me. I began to close my eyes and RINGGGGGGGGGG!

I immediately backed away when I heard the bell ring which meant 4th period was about to begin.

Harry insisted on walking me to my class even after I told him he was going to be late for his own.  After Harry dropped me off, I gave him a hug and said thank you. He smiled and said "anytime".

It was now lunch and before I could take a bite of my salad, an excited looking Reese pulled my fork out of my hand and yelled in my face- OH MY GOSH!!!!! Have you heard the rumors -

- what rumors - I said while taking back my fork

- well rumor has it that Dane DeHaan has a crush on someone at this school -

- doubt it - I said loosing interest when Reese said Dane's name

- I think it's true and I think I know who he likes -

- have you seen him Reese. He is constantly making out with different girls every day and to be honest, he doesn't seem like the type who has crushes - I said - anyways, who could he possibly like that is up to his standards -

- so you do stare at him -

- what. No , no I don't. I know that because every time I go to my locker, he's always there - I said frustrated

- sureeeee - Reese said - anyways I think I know who he likes -

- I pity that girl -

- I feel bad for Dane though -

- why do you feel bad for him -

- because the girl he likes is already taken -

- lucky her - I said in a sarcastic tone

- yeah, lucky her - Reese said

- who is it!!!! - Chloe said frustrated by the lack of information

- isn't it clear who the girl is - Reese said casually - Dane likes our little kimmy -

I started choking on the piece of lettuce I was chewing on

- it's not me - I said - you said she had a boyfriend -

- oh come on Kim. How long did you think you could keep Harry a secret -

- Harry! -

- oh, you guys didn't know. Kim didn't go to tutorial with us today because she had plans with Harry Styles on the field -

- really! - Andrew and Chloe said surprised

Reese nodded

- no. I just didn't feel like ditching today - I said

- I have something to tell you guys - Andrew said

- what is it - Reese said

- I invited Dane to have lunch with us today -

I started choking again but this time on a tomatoe

- Calm down - Reese said - how are you and Dane going to talk if you choke every time someone says his name -

- I was just surprised - I said

- try not to choke Kim, but Dane is waking over here - Chloe said

Too late I thought to myself as I spit out my water

- ughhhhh Kim - Chloe said

- hey Dane - Reese said in a high pitched voice

- hey guys. Hey Andrew - Dane said while hugging Andrew

Dane sat down and Reese immediately sat next to him.

- sooooooo... tell us about you. Like, are you really from England - Reese asked

- no I'm not - Dane said - I'm actually from Allentown, Pennsylvania. I moved to England when I was 11 and went to a private school up until now - he said before turning his head in my direction

- so, did you just wake up or something - he said sarcastically

I knew his comment was only for me because I was wearing black Victoria secret yoga pants, a blue v neck that was kind of big on me, and a light blue jacket from Hollister. My shoes weren't helping much either.

- what do you care -  I said while getting up.

As I was walking to the girls bathroom a familiar voice called my name

- hey Kim -

I saw Harry jogging to catch up to me. I felt relieved and happy it was him and no one else.

- hey - I said

- is something wrong - he said with a worried face

- no, nothing. I'm just tired, that's all -

- I know your not okay but I'm also not going to pressure you to talk about it since you clearly don't want to -

- thanks Harry -

- no problem. So where are you going -

- umm I don't know - I said honestly

- yes you do. Your coming with me -

After Harry said that he entwined his finger with mine and led me to a shady spot under a tree.

For the rest of lunch, Harry and I talked about random things as I rested my head on his shoulder.

what's going on with Dane? Why is ignoring Kim and being so mean to her? Is Harry styles going to be a big part of Kim's life? So many questions and so little answers. Okay so when you are reading this don't think of Harry as one of the 1D boys. Just think of him as a regular teenager. Sorry for the really crappy chapter. I promise I'll do better next time.
