chapter 1

The wind knocked loudly on my window at 5:30 a.m. as I pulled my pillow over my head trying to make the best out of my last 15 minutes of sleep. Before I knew it, my alarm clock went off and I was awakened by my Katy Perry ringtone. Half asleep, I rolled myself out of bed and made my way to my bathroom.

- Ugh, I looks horrible - I said to myself as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I quickly hopped into the shower and did everything I had to do before heading downstairs. When I entered the kitchen, the phone in the livingroom unexpectedly rang making me jump a little.

- Hello? - I said

- Hey darling, it's me mom -

- Hey mum, how are you and most importantly, where are you? - I said sounding a bit demanding.

- My flight has been delayed until Friday.... I'm really sorry I'm not there for your first day back to school - she said in a slightly disappointed voice.

- it's okay mum, I wasn't expecting you to be right on time anyway and I think I'll manage without your world famous back to school hugs - I said calmly but on the inside I was crushed.

- but honey, it's your junior year. The most important year of high school. I feel really bad I can't be with you on this important day - she said with a hint of sadness

- it's not that important - I said - anyways I have Reese to give me a hug. She never disappoints -

- but I'm your mother, I should be sharing these moments with you but I'm glad Reese is going to be with you. I absolutely love that girl, she is such a good influence on you! - she said

- you have no idea - I said while smirking - mum, I have to go. I'm going to be late to school if I don't leave right now - I stressed the "now"

- alright hun, but before you leave check the top of the fridge, I left a surprise for you - she said

- alright mom -

- I love you - she said

- love you more - I said in a happy tone

Curiosity was killing me as I sprinted toward the kitchen to check what the "surprise" was. I quickly checked the top of the fridge and found a long red velvet box with a stylish gold bow.

- what...? - I looked at the box in confusion.

I didn't hesitate on opening it and as soon as i did, was stunned by what was inside. It was a white gold charm bracelet. As I took out the bracelet, a little piece of paper fell out. I bent down to pick up the paper and began reading what it said

" Since I can't be with you every day, here is a little piece of me so wherever you are as long as you have this, I will always be with you - love mom "

I couldn't help but smile and get a warm feeling all over my body. I glanced over to my iphone and saw that if I didn't leave now, I would make both me and Reese late.

I quickly got in my car and drove over to reese's place. After a couple minutes of speeding, I texted my best friend in the whole world telling her I was outside. Not oven a minute had gone by when I saw her rush out of her house and run toward my car.

- did you repaint your range rover? - she asked while putting on her seat belt

- yep - I said with a smile - the white I had before was a nightmare to keep clean so after a trip to the shop, numerous boring magazines, and fending off old gross guys... Voila, now its black - I said while focusing on the road

- cool - she said - so how did my loser survive the entire summer without mua?!? -

- I managed - I said sarcastically

We continued to make small talk about our summers as we made our way to the schools parking lot. As expected, as soon as we got out of my car and walked through the parking lot, we were sorrounded by loads of people complimenting us on our outfits, asking us how our summers were, and if we could attend a few back to school parties and bonfires.

After somehow managing to get through the mob of people, we instantly spotted our two other best friends.

- hey!!!!!! - we all said in unisome while hugging each other

- hey love - Andrew my best guy friend said to me in his attractive British accent.

- hey, I've missed you - I said a little to eagerly but I didn't care

We were lost in deep conversation when out of nowhere my friend Chloe came in between us.

- what's up - I said to her with a big smile.

- oh nothing, you know me. Always traveling and meeting hot new strangers - she said casually

- you haven't changed a bit - I said while hugging her

All of us were now engaged in a interesting conversation when out of nowhere we saw girls running towards the front of the school where a black limo had just parked.

- what's going on - I said clueless on what was happening.

- oh, you haven't heard the news yet? - Reese said

- what news... - I asked while shifting my neck in uncomfortable positions just to try and see past the girls who kept blocking my view

- well rumor has it that a hot new boy toy just moved here from England and he's insanely rich - Reese said in a girly voice

- oh - was all I managed to say - well I guess we're about to find our if he's cute or not - I said, giving up on trying to see what the whole commotion was about

As all my friends started to walk toward the crowd of people, I walked in the opposite direction heading inside of the school.

- where are you going? - Reese raised her eyebrow

- I have to put some things in my locker - I said quietly and walked away

- okay... - she said as she turned around - make sure to meet us at our usual spot for lunch -

-wouldn't go anywhere else - I said with my back turned from her.

As I was about to walk through the schools French doors, I decided to look back one more time to see if everyone was still waiting for "prince charming" to get come out of his limo. At the exact time I decided to look at the cars door, they were opened revealing a pale but attractive looking guy with short straight hair and beautiful blue eyes. As he got out, he started to look around and for a second our eyes met. Even though it was just a second or two, to me it felt like eternity. I quickly turned back around and continued to walk inside the building acting as if nothing had happened.

Yay so this is the first chapter as I promised.
