Dane's Point Of View

I sat droopy eyed on a green mint chair looking straight ahead at the brown wooden door hoping to see someone in particular walk in some time soon. The clock ticked silently as I sat still playing with my fingers to pass time. I waited and waited and waited and waited... and waited but no sign of Kim and it was about to be 5 a.m. Just as I was about to give into a wonderful thing call sleep I saw the door slightly open and in came a wet looking Kim complete with soggy hair.

- it's five in the morning - I said in serious tone with an emotionless face due to lack of sleep but mostly because I was mad at her for coming home this late and never once caring to call.

- I'm cold, hungry, and tired so I beg of you to save whatever lecture you had prepared for tomorrow. All I can say is that I was with Andrew and unexpected things happened - she said in an equally tired voice.

- Andrew? Unexpected? Tell me one thing; should I be worried - I said as my mind filled with horrible thoughts that I prayed weren't real.

- don't think so little of me Dane. In fact, don't think anything and leave me in the doubt because as far as I know I haven't done anything wrong apart from talking to that walking madman - she said while walking toward me and never once breaking eye contact.

- I think very highly of you but I'm a guy and considering your past history with him, do you really blame me for asking? - I defended my reasons as to why I doubted her. She stared at me for a second or two before walking past me and heading to our bedroom. I repeated her actions and walked into the bedroom to find her sitting on the small awkward stool we had by our nightstand while carefully taking off her jewelry.

- I don't doubt you when you go out by yourself for long periods of time. Why can't the feeling be mutual? - she caught me off guard with her trust driven question. My eyes blinked for what seemed like a million times before I found the perfect words to answer her.

- because I love you. If I didn't care for you deeply then I would have gone to sleep knowing you were somewhere doing god knows what but I waited up for you. The feeling of trust is solidified between us, trust me - I said.

- then jealousy will be the death of us - she lightly laughed as she looked down at her feet. I smiled which made feel less tired than before and walked over to her so I could hold her hands in mine. The feeling of her silky hands felt perfect against mine.

- I'm going to take a shower and moisturize because I feel like a soggy raisin - Kim said. I nodded and as soon as I heard the shower turn on I didn't hesitate in crawling under the covers and turning the lights off but leaving the bed side lamp on for her when she got back.

- Dane? - I heard her yell from the bathroom.

- yeah - I groggily reply with my eyes still closed and a hand on my forehead.

- you shouldn't leave your wallet in here because it can easily get wet - Kim said as she walked back into the room.

- that was a fast shower and I'll get it in the morning -

- you can keep it in there but just don't leave it by the sink where it can easily fall and be tarnished by water - she said as she dried her hair and re-fastened the towel around her body.

- I wont, oh and I unpacked your white pajamas. They're in the bottom drawer of the dresser along with all of your socks - I had almost forgotten to tell her because of the change of plans that had occurred tonight. Kim warmly smiled at me and said "thank you" before bending down and opening the long wooden drawer where her neatly folded sleep wear was located. It wasn't long before I felt the left side of the bed indent and most of the sheets were pulled away from me. Reluctant to give up my fair half of the cozy sheets I tugged them back and forth due to Kim trying to take it all for herself. We both laughed as we moved toward the center of the bed and managed to share the blanket without fighting over it.

- want to tell me about your extraordinary night - I whispered while looking into her eyes and pulling little strands of hair away from her face.

- it's not worth telling when I have someone like you next to me - Kim whispered back in a smile. I pulled her closer to my me and gave a short but sweet kiss on the lips while wrapping my arms around her.

- goodnight beautiful - was the last thing I said before falling into a deep slumber.
I had to take an unexpected hiatus from wattpad but I'll try to be more active whenever I have the time. I'm uploading a timeless classic called Little Women by Louisa May Alcott if you're interested in reading. If you are then you should add it to your library but overall, the novel is an absolute beauty and I beg that you give it a chance because it is worth it. Don't forget to vote and comment.
