chapter 12

Dane's Point of View

I haven't slept in three days because I want to make sure that someone is taking care of Kim at all times. She wasn't seriously injured but I found out that when I ran into her, I had broken her leg. 

Kim just slept though the days because her medication made her knocked her out completely.

Earlier today I was tempted to take the pain relievers the doctor had prescribed me to help relieve some of the pain from my wrist but I decided not to. I knew they would make me sleepy and Kim was to important to be left unattended.

As I was flipping through an Elle magazine, I saw Kim shift uncomfortably in her bed. She was probably having a bad dream.

Nevertheless, I made my way over to the side of her bed and held her hand gently while whispering words of kindness in her ear. Even though she probably couldn't hear me, that didn't discourage me from doing it.

Deep in thought about my argument with my father a few days ago I was disturbed when I heard Kim say my name.

- I'm here, it's okay - I said while tightening my hold on her hand

- Dane - she said again

Was she dreaming about me?

I waited for her to say something else but she never did. Kim's silent breathing was the only sound in the room.

I smiled and lightly laughed to myself as I continued to hold her hand. I couldn't think of a happier moment that this right here.

I'm really sorry for not updating but my personal life got in the way :(. I'll try to be more professional with my style of writing because I want you guys to experience the details of the story to the fullest. I want you guys to see the beauty in a slow moving relationship. This story is very relatable and real. Think about it, this could actually happen to you.
