Chapter 46

Dane's point of view

" you did great today, all of you" ,the director said through his megaphone. I was about to walk away when he pulled me away from the crowd and led me to his dressing room. I awed in amazement at how big and glamorous his room was.

- you like what you see - he said as he lite a cigar and popped it into his mouth.

- it's quite impressive - I said.

- you know, this could all be yours if you wanted it - he huffed into the cigar and blew out about two or three tiny circles. He handed the box full of cancer sticks to me but I politely rejected.

I cleared my throat and said - you wanted to talk to me? -

- oh, yes. Your familiar with the band 5 Seconds of Summer right - he said in between puffs.

- they're not really my taste but my fiancé on the hand knows that boy with blonde hair and blue eyes personally - a wave of happiness washed over me as soon as I said "my Fiancé."

- I didn't know you were engaged, who's the lucky gal? - he said in a completely unprofessional tone.

- her name is Kim Knight - I smiled.

- sounds pretty, where is she? - he asked while keeping his eyes directly on me.

- she perfect and she decided to stay home because the big cities make her uncomfortable - I said while taking out my phone and showing him a picture.

- she reminds me of my 2nd wife. That one was quite slippery and deceiving - he said with an unreadable expression.

- Kim is the complete opposite. Like I said, she's perfect - I said while staring at her picture on my phone.

- I bet she is - she said in a annoyed voice.

- with all due respect sir, we didn't come in here to talk about my wife so can we get on with our conversation because I have to go back to the hotel and make a very important call - I said.

- straight to the point, I like it. Oh yes, like I was saying before, the management of 5 seconds of summer are throwing them a party tonight and I want you to be my plus one - he said.

- why me - I asked curiously.

- I like you Dane. You have the potential to be the next Leonardo DeCaprio and this party is going to be swarming with A list celebrities. Come out with me  and meet some people. Get better acquainted with those type of people because soon enough you'll be one of them - he raised an eyebrow and continued smoking his cigar. The smell sickened me but this was his dressing room so he was in charge.

- what time and where - I asked.

- I'll come pick you up and be ready by 8:30 . See you later Mr. DeHaan - he said in a creepy voice.

I silently walked back to my dressing room with my head full of confusement. Why was he being so nice/weird and out of everyone, why would he choose me to be his plus one. I guess I'll find out later.
