Wanda POV-

I didn't push past her natural mind barrier that was up but I wanted her honest answer if she was okay. She didn't seem upset with me using my powers. I grab my plate of food and sit next to Y/N at the table with Nat on my other side.

Nat leans in close to me as the boys finish getting their plates ready in the kitchen. "You guys seemed awfully close earlier." She lifts up her fork and sets her napkin in her lap. She avoids eye contact but the smirk on her face is definitely there. "Shut up, Romanoff." Y/N turns to look at me, her eyebrows raised. I know she heard Nat, but I can't hide the smile on my face. I haven't felt this comfortable around someone in a very long time. The conversation is ended by everyone sitting down.

We manage to sneak away from the group after some mild socialization. Y/N follows me into her room shutting the door behind her. "What was that all about?" I know exactly what she is referencing but I won't give her the satisfaction.

"I don't know what you are talking about." I take another couples steps back until my legs hit the bed. I sit down as Y/N steps closer. I reach out my hand which she takes with no hesitation. "What's wrong, Wanda?" I want to clear the air from earlier.

"I'm sorry about talking in your head before dinner. I just wanted to make sure you were okay and it is an easy way to communicate. I just, did I push a line? I didn't enter your mind past communication." I didn't even realize that my heart was beating faster until I stopped rambling.

"Are you done?" I nod my head as she steps up to my legs. Her thighs rest on my knees. She sets the folder down next to me on the bed before making eye contact with me. "I have no problem with what you did today, okay? I need someone to check on me like that. You have given me no reason not to trust you. You are already on my mind. I think that gives you some rights to communicate with me in my head too."

Y/N POV-

Wanda looks down at the hand I have resting lightly on the side of her leg. She nudges her fingers forward until her fingertips graze the back of my hand. I lift my hand off her leg enough to intertwine our fingers together.

"Wanda," She looks up at me slowly, "Do it." I want her to hear my thoughts. The noise in my head that in these past two days has only been about her. I want, no need her to know.

"Are you sure?" Her thumb rubs slowly against mine sending sparks up my arm. "Please," I watch as her eyes fade out of her normal green color. It starts with just flecks of red until she blinks away the green completely.

It feels almost like a wave of energy that travels through my fingers, up my arm, my neck, and into my head. I can feel her stop at my mental barrier. I close my eyes and focus on it dropping. She squeezes my hand to get my attention, for me to open my eyes.

"Relax," her voice fills my head, and my body instantly listens. The tension I hold between my shoulder blades begins to dissipate. The tension across my side where the gauze pad covers the marks leaves. The constant onslaught of thoughts that continuously thuds around in my head quiets. Her words leave me completely vulnerable to her.

Wanda POV-

Y/N sways forward slightly, her eyes shut. "Show me your happy place." With her mental block down, her brain responds immediately.

The room around us gets fuzzy. The windows no longer look out over the dark water but of the sun still in the sky. I turn my head to look back at Y/N. She opens her eyes and looks behind me. I follow her eyes and look over my shoulder. It is me asleep in her arms from earlier today. This must be a memory. We both watch as it plays out.

Y/N blinks open her eyes and looks down at Wanda. She slowly lifts her hand up to Wanda's face to push a piece of stray hair out of it. Y/N's words come out quiet, barely above a whisper, "I can't believe you stayed."

She rests her hand on Wanda's cheek and lightly traces down her cheek. Wanda scrunches her nose up after Y/N pulls her hand away then nuzzles further into Y/N 's shoulder. She takes in a deep breath of air before releasing it, a small smile covering her face. Her hand grabs ahold of Y/N 's shirt as her body relaxes and her hand goes semi-limp, the fabric still in her grasp.

Y/N tilts her head down to rest on the top of Wanda's and kisses it softly before pulling back again. She drops her head back onto her pillow then looks up at the ceiling. Her eyes begin to flutter shut. She tightens her grip on Wanda pulling her as close as possible to her. She forces her eyes open once more to look down at Wanda, "I hope this doesn't change anything between us because my life is better with you in it."

Her eyelids close and stay shut as Y/N 's head rolls off to the side of her pillow.

The memory fades out around us bringing us back to the moment. "I asked for your happy place." Y/N looks down at our hands, she avoids looking at me. "That was."

I squeeze her hand again. I want her to look at me. "Y/N," her confidence is fading. Earlier, she was coming up to me in the kitchen and placing her hand on my lower back, pulling me closer in her sleep, now she is pulling away. She takes one step back so only our hands are touching.

"I'm sorry. My brain just, I couldn't stop it. I-," I pull her forward causing her to stumble forward, her head dropping down, her face inches from mine. "You're mine too."
