Wanda POV-

Pepper steps out once we get Y/N into her bed. "I'll tell the others you are going to rest. I am glad we have you both back to us." She shuts the door behind her.

Y/N is still breathing heavier than she was. "You okay? Are you injured anywhere else I don't know about?" I lay down next to her resting my head in her shoulder. "No, I just feel like I am still in a fog from that sedative plus I can feel my pulse in my arm from the stitches. You need to get your chip taken out too just in case. The kids also."

I lightly scratch up and down her chest listening to her heartbeat. We sit there in silence. I can hear some muted talking from down the hallway but otherwise nothing else. This room has such a homey feeling after being in that hotel room of an apartment for a little over two weeks. It felt like an entire lifetime there.

"Babe, I think I am going to fall asleep." I look up at her, the bags under her eyes are prominent. We are going to need to spend some serious time just recovering on sleep. "Are you okay if I go out to the others? I want to make sure the recruits are okay."

She nods her head slowly. "Yeah, I'll be okay. Just come back later, please." Her words are already fading out as sleep overtakes her. "I promise." I kiss her cheek before pulling back and leaving the room.

I take in a deep breath of air and immediately regret my decision. "Ouch," Nat looks up from the kitchen at me as I clutch at my chest. She's the only one in here right now. "How did you not actually get shot? I saw the bullet hit you." I pull down the collar of my hoodie to reveal Y/N's bullet proof suit.

"You'd be dead without that now." I nod my head as she steps out from around the counter to wrap her arms around me. I continue speaking into our hug, "I know. I don't know why I am in pain though. Maybe the close proximity. Y/N wasn't affected when you shot her arm all that time ago."

Neither one of us lets go early as we stand in the middle of the space hugging. Nat speaks into my ear before finally letting go, "We can run some tests. I'm just glad you are okay."

I think back to what Y/N said about the chips. "Thank you for saving Y/N, for saving me, for everything. I just, words can't thank you enough." She nods once looking at the ground between us. "I told you, you are family."

I look down at my arm. "We need to cut mine and the kids' chips out soon. I don't know who else would have access to that system. We don't need to risk it." Nat nods her head returning back to the kitchen.

"We can do it after lunch. Tony and Pepper are walking the kids around the compound. They said they would stay." I look up at her. "Really?" She nods. "We just need to get them set up in rooms. Tony is going to move out of the compound to live with Pepper. Are you and Y/N going to merge rooms?"

We haven't really talked about it. "I, uh, we haven't talked about it but I assume so. Especially after everything that has happened. I have a feeling we are going to have some trauma issues around here. For all five of us." Nat continues stirring the pot in front of her.

"Well, we have that one left over empty room as well so they can each have their own. Your old room, Tony's old room, and the empty one. We'll need to take them shopping soon for clothes too." I hear Tony's voice returning before I see them.

Kali runs forward ahead of the others practically jumping into my arms. "How's Y/N?" She steps back as Harlee and Elliot each move in for a hug as well. "She's sleeping off that sedative right now. Specialist Grace gave her a lot."

They look like they have relaxed a little bit, less on edge and scared. "So, I heard you guys are going to stick around and join us?" They all nod their heads. "We have three rooms so you can each have your own. How does that sound?" They all have a similar excitement to Peter. Speaking of, "Where did Peter go?"
