Wanda POV-

We begin to see real progress moving into the new week. Specialist Grace lowered the number of agents we sparred against at a time and how we structured the trainings. She calls the end of our training today after about three hours.

"Wanda and Y/N, can you hang back a minute?" She waves over Drew to us as well. "As I mentioned last week, we have the new recruits showing up this afternoon. I have a file on everyone and I would like you all to go through and become familiar with each of them."

We follow Specialist Grace over to her bag where she pulls out six manilla folders filled with papers and documentation. "I don't care how you divide them up but you have about," she glances down at her watch, "four hours until they get here. Make sure you look at all of them."

She hands the folders to Drew and then steps away to answer a phone call. We have included Drew more in our hangouts to try and keep him close. If good Drew surfaces, we want to be there to keep him from doing anything drastic.

"Where do you want to look these over?" Drew looks to Y/N who runs her hand through her hair briefly. "Why don't we all shower up and we can meet by our tree in an hour. That still gives us plenty of time to review the incoming recruits."

Y/N is learning to take charge in our group as the designated leader but she still refers to me for most decisions. Right on cue, she turns to me and raises her eyebrows. "Does that work?" I nod my head. "Sounds good to me."

We separate from Drew and head towards our room. These past couple of days have been more laidback and less stressful. I can tell Y/N is relaxing into our routine more. She wraps her arm around my waist as we walk across the grass field. She leans over kissing the side of my head but she seems distracted.

She pulls back and asks, "You okay?" I nod my head. "Are you? You seem a little, off." She looks down at the ground. If she is willing to have this conversation out loud instead of mentally it must be Hydra related.

"They are going to look to us as the example. I just don't want to get attached," she pauses in her words but I know what she means. We intend on leaving and burning every bridge behind us of this place.

She continues on with her words to provide a meaning to her sentence for anyone listening. "You just told me about all of the failed experiments before you and your brother. I doubt they are all going to make it but Specialist Grace didn't mention the experiment. I wonder if it is like a super soldier serum or alien tech or," we step into our apartment building.

"Y/N, you're overthinking. The fact that you already care this much means that you will do whatever you need to in order to help them. They all probably know the risk. We will just be here to support them no matter how long we have the privilege of knowing them."

The elevator dings on our floor and the doors open. Y/N drops her arm from my waist and holds up her chip to the scanner outside our room. "Yeah, I don't feel like I am a leader though." She swings open the door to our room inward and holds it for me to walk through. "Um, you do realize both Drew and I look up to you."

Y/N rolls her eyes at my comment and tries to step away but I catch her hand pulling her to me. I wrap my arms around her neck. "We do." She rests her arms on my hips and begins swaying to the sound of nothing. She looks content as she shuts her eyes.

We step back and forth in front of our bed, "Baby, there's no music." She shushes me with a smile on her face. "I don't need music to dance with my girlfriend." She lets go and takes my hand slowly spinning me away from her and then back. She sets one hand on my waist while she holds the other up next to us. I lightly place my hand on her shoulder as we continue dancing.
