Wanda POV-
Specialist Grace disappears quickly around the corner. Y/N is practically vibrating with anger and frustration. "Y/N, hey, look at me." I bring my hands up to her face and gently place them onto her cheeks.
She shakes me off taking a step back, her hands raised towards me. "No, no! This isn't okay! We came here and joined Hydra for what? To be lied to and manipulated? To get treated like we are kids and know nothing? To get fucking hurt day after day for no reason except to apparently make me a better soldier for Hydra!"
Y/N spins around and walks a couple steps away running her fingers through her hair. "Baby," the pet name seems to catch her attention but she keeps her back turned to me. "Come here," she hesitates before turning around. Eventually, she faces me.
"What, Wanda? What can you say to make this better?" I physically recoil at her jab for a brief moment. This isn't her. The draining, the anger. This is just a side effect. Her emotions are swinging all over the place. First, the panic from Drew that triggered a panic attack and now the anger from Specialist Grace and Drew hiding information from us.
"I said, come here." I put more force into my words. She trudges over stopping directly in front of me but remains silent. "Can I touch you?" She nods her head slowly. I reach forward and interlock our hands together. "Look at me." She lifts her chin up until her eyes meet mine.
"You just did some heavy draining. It is why your emotions are everywhere. Tap into it and take back the control." I look up at the ceiling and can see the cameras directly pointed on us but I don't care. I let the magic release out of my hands and into Y/N. Her eyes get bigger when she sees my red eyes looking back at her.
Her voice fills my head, "Wait, Wanda not out here." I shake my head no. "You need to hear me. Do not push me away like you just did." Y/N's head drops down breaking our eye contact. "It is just so much, everything. And we are never alone."
I hear some footsteps trailing down the hallway behind us. "I know. Now, we need to go to Specialist Grace's office. I need you to remain calm, okay? She is probably going to ask me what I saw in Noah's head and hopefully, she can explain some of what I saw."
Specialist Grace's office is right down this hallway so only a short walk away. A random agent turns onto our hallway and continues on his way without even a glance thrown in our direction. Y/N is tensing her shoulders and back waiting for him to be gone even though we are communicating mentally.
When the agent is gone, Y/N asks one last thing, "Did you see Dawn Grace in Noah's head?" I nod my head subtly. "Yes, and Nat was right. I think she is the head we need to cut off."
Y/N POV-
Wanda keeps ahold of my hand as she drags me down the hallway towards Specialist Grace's office. The door is still shut and locked so we must have beat her back here. "This is stupid." I lean my back against the cinderblock wall and Wanda steps closer to me standing between my spread legs.
"What's stupid?" I wrap my arms around her waist holding her tightly against me. "This. I feel like we're in trouble waiting for the principal." Wanda scrunches up her nose with a small smile on her face. "Did you ever get called into the principal's office?"
I nod my head. "Yeah, a couple times. Each time I moved my record was wiped but I got into a couple fights against some bullies." Wanda places her hands lightly at the base of my neck. "So valid reasons for fighting. You had to defend yourself."
She can tell she was wrong by the face I make. "No, it was always me defending others. Most people left me alone. I didn't like getting too close to people since I knew I would have to leave and drop all communication." Wanda rubs her thumbs gently across my jaw line. "It sounds like you have always looked out for others. It's one of my favorite things about you."
