•Chapter 14•

*Matt's POV*

The 7th period bell rang and I needed to go to the bathroom. I got up and left for the boys bathroom. I walked in and put my stuff down. I went into the stall and heard a familiar voice say, "No one has to know.... Is anyone in here?" I put my feet on the toilet and picked up my bag to hide myself. Then I heard a thud. 5 minutes passed and I was going to be late for Emily so I to up and left the stall. My heart sank when I opened the door to see one of the most betraying sights ever. It was Amanda pinning one of my teammates in football. "Amanda?" I said my voice cracking with heartache. "Oh.....um.....well.....you see...I" she tried to find words but no words could make up for what she had done. I just stormed out of the room upset and confused all at once. I walked to the front doors and saw Emily waiting for me. I started to cry. I couldn't let her see me like this. I ran across the hall to the back door and left.

*Emily's POV*
It's now 2:45 and there is still no Matt. I don't know my way home so I will wait for the late bus at 3:00. The bus arrived and I boarded. I was the only one there so the bus driver said she would drop me off at my house instead of the bus stop. I told her the address and she pulled out of the school. We arrived at my house and I thanked the bus driver. I stepped off the stairs and the bus bus pulled away. I looked up from my phone and saw Matt on my front stairs. "Nice to know you're alive." I said in a pissed off tone. "Emily let me explain" Matt said getting up and following me into my house. "What's to explain? You obviously don't like me so stop wasting my time." I said this regretting every word when I finished. "Emily" I looked up and saw that Matt was now crying. He had no expression. They were silent tears rolling down his cheek, The worst kind. "Matt I'm so sorry" I said this while pulling him in for a hug. "It's not you" he said while his tears dampened my sweater. "What do you mean?" I said puzzled. He pulled away from the hug. "It's Amanda... I caught her with someone else." I'm looked into his eyes still full of tears. "Oh Matt." I said pulling him toward the couch so we could sit and talk. As he kept talking I hated Amanda more and more. Why Matt? He is so sweet. He would never hurt anyone. "It will be ok Matt." I said touching his knee. He looked up at me alarmed. "Emily, can I ask you something?" He said sniffling between every word. "Sure Matt, Anything" I said. He looked me in the eyes. I never realised this before but he had the brownest eyes I had ever seen. He got up and started walking towards the door. "Never mind" he said aggravated. "Tell me Matt, did I do something. If I did then I'm..." I was cut off by his lips pressing against mine.
