*Emily's POV*
I walked up to the podium and set my paper down. The paper read, "Say the unwritable." Well that was helpful. I looked around at the people around me. "James was a best friend, a son, a cousin, a grandson, and so much more. But most of all he was a great person. He accepted me from day one. He was always a good friend. Though this is a tragedy, If I could go back, I wouldn't change anything. If this didn't happen, I wouldn't be as good friends with Amanda, I wouldn't understand what true pain feels like, but most of all, I wouldn't have learned how short life is. How meaningful every moment that we would normally take for granted is. Sure James is deceased, but is he really? The only way he would be gone is if we gave up on him. I don't know about you, but I haven't. I will still see him on the bus in his normal seat, same with first period math. I will see him sitting on the bleachers by the football field and when I'm playing basketball. I will see him when I go through tough times. I never got to say goodbye to James, so this is it, this is my goodbye. Goodbye James, I love you and so does everyone here. Just hold on to that." Then I felt a tear escape and roll down my cheek as a stepped off the podium. That is exactly what I said to him that day on the bus. I noticed Matt realized it too, because he had tears in his eyes also. Then Matt and I walked back to our seats. Soon after everyone was driving to the graveyard. Before they set James' casket underground, the priest said a few words. When he was done, everyone went up and put something on his casket. I put a few flowers down and walked away. I knew they were just going to sweep them all away before they actually buried him. Then everyone left. We all met at a restaurant for a lunch/dinner. I sat at a table with Matt, the boys, Amanda, and Savannah. "Your Eulogy was beautiful." Amanda and Savannah said at the same time. "Thanks." I smiled. "You made me cry." Laughed Matt. "I think she made us all cry!" Laughed Shawn. "It must have taken you all night to write." Said Matt and he drank a sip of water. I laughed. "What?" He asked confused. "Nothing." I lied. "No, tell me." He pushed. I took a deep breath, "I didn't actually write anything down. I just kind of said what came to my mind." Then I took out my eulogy paper and handed it to Matt. Matt read it and laughed, "James would have gotten a kick out of that." He said smiling. I didn't notice that before. I laughed too, "Yeah, he would." I smiled. The waiters and waitresses came out with a starter salad. Then they took out pasta with sauce for a main course. After that they brought out a delicious strawberry cheesecake. After the lunch/dinner was over, everyone went their separate ways. I went in my moms car and she drove me, Melissa, and herself home. I was exhausted. I went straight to my room and collapsed onto my bed. I fell asleep with my makeup, dress, and Toms on.
