*Matt's POV*

"Emily, can I ask you something?" I said. "Sure Matt, anything." She responded. I freaked out. I shouldn't have said that, I was rushing it. "Never mind" I said walking toward the door so I could leave before I made everything awkward. She chased after me and told me something but I wasn't paying attention. All I could think about was kissing her. Then I turned around and did it. I kissed her. Then I pulled away and stared at her in her eyes. She seemed like she liked it but it was hard to read her face. Then she just said "Bye Matt." I didn't want to argue so I just left. While I was walking home all I could think about was her face. The face she made after I pulled away. I reached my house and collapsed on my bed. "Today has been a day of events." I told myself with a sigh. Then I started to daze off and before I knew it I was asleep.

*Emily's POV*
I wasn't mad at Matt. I like that he has feelings for me. I'm just confused. I had to think it over. I went to my room and did my homework then fell asleep. *next morning* I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I went downstairs after I did my makeup, hair, and put on my uniform to my mother saying "Good morning Emily" with a big smile. "Well someone's happy" I said with a smirk. "Well" she said with a grin. I ate my breakfast and ran towards the bus stop. I made it just as the bus turned the corner. I went one the bus and sat next to James. "Hey" he said with a smile. "Hi" I said blandly. It came out harsher than I thought it would be. He just stared at me then looked away sighing. "Something wrong?" I asked. "You know what? Yeah there is" he said in a harsher tone than mine. "What is it?" I asked trying to sound innocent. "You're what's wrong. Matt told me what happened you know." In that moment I felt extremely angry, confused, but also sad. I just stared at him. "And I don't want to see him get hurt again" he continued. "I wasn't planning on that to happen." I said to him as the bus pulled up to the school. "I didn't mean to be rude I just wanted you to know how I felt" I didn't care what he had to say. I put in my headphones and left the bus. Matt rode up to me on his penny board and grabbed my arm. I took out my earbuds and he said to me, "We need to talk" he had a serious expression so I followed him to the football field's bleachers.
