*Emily's POV*
"Hello?" I said when someone answered the phone. A voice I've never heard before answered the phone. "Hi who is this?" The voice asked. "I should be asking you the same question" I snapped back. Then I heard mumbling and muffling then my mom picked up. "Hello? Emily?" She said. What the heck was going on? "Um yeah. Who was that?" I asked. "Uhhhh that was um Danny" she said. She probably knew I wanted further more explanations so she continued, "He's my boyfriend. Please don't tell Melissa!" she begged. "Im going to make a deal with you" I said. "Sure anything!" She replied a little too fast. "Matt invited me to California for a tour he is going on, If you let me go I won't tell Melissa" I said smirking. "Ummm...... I don't know" she said "Melissa!!!!!!" I called out so my mother could hear. "Fine!" I heard her say. "I'll do it. It's a deal" I thanked her and hung up the phone. I swear I was more responsible than her sometimes. I got my uniform and went to bed happy. I knew that the next day was going to be bad with Amanda but I didn't care cause I am going to see Matt. Then I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning and got ready for school. I ate breakfast and left for the bus stop. I waited for about 10 minutes because I was early. I mean its better than late, right? I walked on the bus and saw James. I sat next to him and he looked like he had been crying. "James? Are you ok?" I asked clearly concerned. He just looked at me. The silence was full of sadness. I reached out and held his hand letting him know I was here if he needed anything. We got out of the bus and he walked me over to the bleachers. I didn't know what for, but I didn't want to upset him anymore so I just followed. We sat down and James spilled. "My life is falling apart" he cried. "What do you mean? You can tell me anything" I said hugging him. "My mom, she was diagnosed with cancer" he said this years streaming down his face. "And you, Emily. I...I...I think I'm in love with you"
