•Chapter 28•

*Matt's POV*
I was walking over to the football field bleachers to think when I heard Emily screaming. I ran over to see Brice kissing her. She was trying to pull away from him but he wouldn't budge. He then started tugging at her shirt. She was crying harder and harder. Jarod was just watching, what a perve. I finally reached them and socked Brice in the face. He fell against the bleachers and passed out. Jarod just ran away. Emily ran over to me and hugged me. I didn't want to let her go. I wanted her to be safe with me. Then I heard her say, "James" we ran towards James and he woke up. Then Amanda came and threatened Emily. I told her to not worry about it, In a few days we would be out in California without a care in the world. I suggested that we skipped school for that day, so we did.

*Emily's POV*
We walked off campus towards our houses. As we walked it was quiet for a minute. Then James broke the silence, "So California huh?" Matt looked up from the ground "Yep, for Magcon" he replied. There was that word again, Magcon, I just loved the idea of it. "Has that ever happened before?" I asked still baffled from what happened earlier. "What?" Asked James confused. "What happened this morning" I replied as though it was obvious. "No. Not that I'm aware of" said Matt, then he grabbed my hand. We got closer to James' house and then we stopped. "So I'll see you guys tomorrow?" James asked. "Yeah" I smiled. "Aye Matt, text me, okay?" James said as he approached his house. "Aight" Matt called back. Then there were two, Me and Matt. We started to walk to my house now. "I'm so sorry" Matt said. I just stayed quiet because it wasn't like I was going to say it was ok, cause it wasn't. I just replied with, "It wasn't your fault" I knew he was still frustrated though. "But I should have been there faster, I should have saved you from all of this. I never wanted this to happen to you. If anyone, you are the last one who deserves this." With these words I couldn't help but kiss him. Then I pulled away, "You did save me" I said. "I love you so much" he replied as he kissed my hand. Then I thought, this is why I love him. I'm not rushing it. He makes me feel safe, he is where my heart belongs. "I love you too" I replied with a content smile. We approached my driveway and then I realized, Melissa. "What do I say to Melissa?" I asked worried. "Tell her you were walking into school and you felt sick so you walked home" Matt told me while shrugging. I liked the way he thought. I smiled and hugged him. "Bye" I said. "Bye. Oh and text me" Matt replied while winking. I got to the door and opened it. I told Melissa my bogus story and told her I was going to rest. I went to my room and collapsed on my bed. I put my hands on my face and laughed. "My life" I told myself. Then I fell asleep.
