*Emily's POV*
I woke up around 3:00 in the afternoon. Had I really slept through a whole school day? I got up, fixed my hair and makeup, then went downstairs. I saw Melissa at the table eating lunch. "I'm going to take a walk" I told her. "Ok, but be back by 4:30" she responded. I walked out of the door and realized I forgot to text Matt. I picked up the phone and texted him. Then I kept walking. Before I realized it was approaching Matt's house. I saw him playing basketball with James. I didn't want to turn around and look awkward, so I was just kept going and put my headphones so I can pretend not to notice them. I walked past his driveway when a ball hit my arm. I took out my headphones and turned around alarmed to see James laughing. I picked up the ball and through it at him. "Are you laughing now?" I asked laughing. Then Matt picked up the ball and dunked it. When he landed on his feet he wiped off his shoulders and said, "Oh, didn't see you there" I laughed and responded with, "Show off" he picked up the ball and passed it to me, "Ok, let's see what you got" I knew I wasn't as good as Matt but I wasn't that bad. I was on a travel team back in New York. I dribbled the ball and threw a 3 pointer getting nothing but net. "Fair enough" laughed Matt. Then we played until 4:00. After that we went inside for water and we talked for a while. I checked my phone and it was 4:25. "I got to go" I said to Matt. "Ok, be safe" he responded. I said thank you and waved to James. Then I ran out the door. I was sprinting down the street when I finally reached my house. It was 4:30 exactly. I opened the door and Melissa was surprised to see me on time. I went to my room and texted the girl I met at Matt's football game, Sophia. I asked her what the homework was because we had some subjects together. I did the homework and fell asleep soon after I finished. That night I dreamt that Matt wasn't there to save me yesterday morning. It was awful. I woke up in a cold sweat. I told myself it was just a nightmare and slowly drifted back to sleep thinking I how much I loved Matt.
