I look in the mirror at my outfit, and nod, it's good.. I hope. I'm meeting a fashion designer today, who wants me to model his new collection. It is a massive job, and I'm really hoping I can get it. I know I was planning to be done with modelling, but when the opportunity came up, I couldn't say no. And it's only a one off job, for now, and I can do it right from my home town so I don't see any harm in doing it.

I have a quick breakfast and check that I look presentable and head to the cafe I planned to meet the designer. When I get there, I take a seat and wait nervously. Shortly after a women who looks to be in her mid fourties and a younger girl walk in. They spot me and walk over to me, this must be her. I stand up, "Hi, Alexa. I'm Amanda, this is my assistant Kylie." I shake her hand and also Kylies, and introduce myself. She is really lovely, and my nerves ease the more we talk. She asks me about previous experience, and my current situation and the interview seems to be going well.

"Well, you seem to be a perfect fit for what I want, Alexa." She hands me her card and gives me a promising smile. "Thankyou so much." She nods, "It's no problem. But there's one thing, we've had to change to shooting location." I nod, for this opportunity I'm willing to travel, and it can't be that far. "We're going to be shooting in New York. I have a few collections coming up, so if you take the job, you'll need to be there for a few months." Now when I say I'm willing to travel, I meant within the country. New York? Is the job worth it? "The job is yours if you want it. Have a think and let me know in a weeks time, okay?" I nod, "Okay. Thankyou."

New York? For a few months? All I can think about is what Harry will say. He has made it clear to me in the past couple weeks that he agrees with my parents on the modelling situation, so doing this will not earn his support. I still have a week to think, so I won't tell him yet. Speaking of Harry...

*Can you come over?*

I quickly reply yes and leave the cafe, heading to Harry's house. One second I'm convinced that telling him is the right thing, the next second I convince myself that telling him would stress him out and cause problems and before I know it I'm pulling into his driveway. I'm not telling him. Not today.

I head inside and go to his room, "Hello." I say, walking in and sitting beside him on his bed. "I have something to show you." He says, walking over to his wardrobe. I frown, as he pulls out a guitar. Harry plays guitar? He smiles, "I'll show you." He answers my thoughts. "This is just something I'm working on."

"There's a lightning in your eyes I can't deny,
Then there's me inside a sinking boat running out of time.
Without you I'll never make it out alive,
But I know yes I know we'll be alright.

There's a devil in your smile that's chasing me,
And every time I turn around it's only gaining speed,
There's a moment when you finally realise,
There's no way you can change the rolling tide."

He stops playing, and looks at me, as if looking for approval. I raise my eyebrows, "So when were you planning of telling me about these multiple hidden talents?" I laugh, never expecting Harry to be the singing and guitar playing type. He shrugs, "I don't know, when I was happy with the song." And puts the guitar down, "And once I'd found a band to join." I frown, "What?" He smiles, "There's a band in this town who needed a guitarist who can sing. I can do those things, so.. I'm in a band."  Wow. I'm honestly really happy for Harry, and I can see that's he's really happy about this. "That's really great." Do I tell him about America?

"There's this gig next week." A gig? I figured this band was just for fun... "Oh, so it's like serious?" He frowns, "Um, yeah?" I nod, "Okay." He puts the guitar away. "What's the problem?" He asks, while tidying up his room. I sigh, "It's nothing." He shakes his head, "Here we go."

"WHat's that supposed to mean?" I ask, standing up from his bed. "Nothing, forget it." He says, trying to brush of his remark. I don't see this ending well, so I decide to leave before things get worse. I grab my bad, "Oh come on, Alexa. Don't leave." I rub the back of my neck, "I have things to do." I head out of his room and run into Louis. "Hey, how are you?" I force a smile, "Fine, thanks." I push past him and head to my car. I swear Harry and I cannot go more than a few days without a problem. Why can't I have a good, functional relationship?

I sit in my car and pull out the card from Amanda. I put the number into my phone and hover over the call button. New York is far away. Maybe far is good for now. And it's not forever, just a few months. Maybe it will be good, Harry can spend time focusing on his new found band and I can have some alone time, with new people and new surroundings. I finally press the call button and my heart instantly beats faster. Once I say yes there's no turning back.

"Hello?"

"Amanda? Hi, it's Alexa. I want to take the job."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

"Great, we leave two weeks from tomorrow. I'll plan your flights and get the details to you soon."

"Thank you. I'll see you soon."
