Ch. 17 The five dragons

"How could I let them take Mai away?" Lea whimpered to herself.

"It's not your fault." Tea reassured Lea as she rubbed her shoulders comfortingly.

"She's right. If anything, it's those assholes' fault." Sora agreed with Tea while she joined in to comfort Lea.

"She's gone, I failed!" Lea cried as she clenched her fist.

"Face it, Lea. She turned her back on all of us and joined the bad guys. Whatever happens to her now is her own fault." Tristan told Lea firmly, and his words made Joey's heart hurt severely.

"Take it easy, Tristan! Lea's got enough on her mind now!" Tea defended Lea as she held her close.

"Joey too!" Sora chimed in as she noticed Joey's sadness while his head was lowered as he allowed his bangs to cover his eyes.

"Joey and Lea have gotta face facts! Come on, you two saw! Mai wasn't just playing a friendly game of Duel Monsters out there, she was after Lea's soul!" Tristan snapped back, as he tried to be reasonable.

"Tristan, that's enough." Yami suddenly stepped in firmly.

"I'm just being honest." Tristan sighed, and Lea was on the verge of tears.

All of a sudden, Yami glanced back and saw that both of Sora's brothers have just shown up, "Kaiba!"

When Yami said Seto's name, it caught the other's attentions and so they all turned around to face both Seto and Mokuba.

"Seto!" Sora exclaimed as she ran over to give her big brother a hug, and Seto hugged her right back and held her close to him while he gently asked her if she was okay. After hearing him ask, Sora pulled back to face Seto and replied with, "I'm fine, big brother. Thanks for asking though."

Lea suddenly noticed Mokuba, and so she quickly stood up to her feet and quickly ran over to hug him tightly as she put her head on his shoulder and cried. Mokuba was a bit surprised and he didn't know what she was crying about, but he hugged her back and held her really tight, reassuring her that things were gonna be okay. All Lea knew as Mokuba held her was that she needed him. She needed his presence, his scent, his hug, it was all she truly needed at that moment.

Mokuba then looked up to face the gang and asked them, "What are all you guys doing here?"

All of a sudden... Both Duke and Marcella showed up, and it made Mokuba more surprised to see them, "Duke and Marcella are here too?"

Just then, both Duke and Marcella suddenly noticed the Kaiba brothers... and Marcella felt her face heating up at the sight of Seto!

"Hey, Seto." Marcella greeted Seto sheepishly, to which Seto just grinned at her in reply as he released Sora. After that, Sora turned to Mokuba who was still comforting the upset Lea and she greeted him saying, "Hey, Mokie."

Mokuba looked up to face his big sister and smiled at her while greeting her back, "Hey, Sora."

"How have you and Seto been while I was gone?" Sora asked as she wanted to know how her brothers handled being without her.

"Honestly, not so good." Mokuba answered with a sigh, and it got Sora curious that she asked, "Really? Why?"

"Well, you see..." Mokuba started, but he was cut off when Duke's voice was heard...

"Whoa, it's a party. What brings you here?" Duke asked Seto, as he was obviously surprised to see him.

"Certainly not the dweeb convention." Seto answered firmly, which got Sora annoyed that her big brother just keeps talking down about her friends.
