Ch. 38 Apologies

Meanwhile, Kylie was in her room laying on her hammock as she appeared to be really sad because she was still heartbroken about seeing Valon following after Mai. It just really hurt her a lot to know that Valon may never love her back and only views her as his sister. If Valon didn't love her back, who else was Kylie going to turn to? All she knew was that she was stuck living her life in misery because her parents were gone, and Valon didn't seem to return her feelings because he had feelings for Mai who clearly didn't share the same feelings for him.

Suddenly Kylie heard a knock on her door, then she heard Valon's voice speaking, "Ky, can I come in?"

Kylie was surprised when she heard his voice, "Valon?" Then she got off her hammock and opened the door to see what Valon wanted, then after the door was open, Valon immediately moved towards her and took her in his arms to hug her tightly. Kylie was shocked by his actions, but she relaxed and hugged him right back tightly just as she buried her head into his chest and inhaled into his scent and warmth as well as she heard his heartbeat. After Kylie had been feeling sad and heartbroken again about seeing Valon following Mai to talk to her, she knew that her being in his arms and gaining comfort from him was all she truly needed at the moment, and she wished that this moment wouldn't have to end.

Soon Valon pulled back and he lifted Kylie's chin up so she could face him and he told her, "Ky... there's something I want to tell ya."

"What is it?" Kylie asked while she put her hand on Valon's chest and felt her heart beat so fast as she waited for Valon to tell her something.

Valon placed his hand on top of her hand that was resting on his chest while he answered Kylie's question, "Well... you and I have grown close since you came here and it made me feel a lot better."

Kylie's heart skipped a beat after he told her that, "R-really?"

"Yeah. Ever since you came here, I couldn't help but feel happy whenever you're here." Valon answered while he gave Kylie his most charming smile ever, and Kylie felt her heart melting as well as she was blushing that she felt like she couldn't look away.

"Ky, I'm sorry for being oblivious... I mean... What I really want to say... Is... That..." Valon hesitated as his heart was beating out of his chest, and Kylie nodded as she encouraged him to tell her what he wanted to tell her. She hoped that what Valon was going to tell her was what she had been dreaming about ever since she met him when she joined the DOMA.

Valon then sighed as he finally summoned the courage, "Ky... I--"

But before he could tell her, Rafael suddenly came in and interrupted both Valon and Kylie asking them, "Valon, Kylie, have either of you seen Alister?"

Both Valon and Kylie turned to face Rafael together while Kylie slowly shook her head and Valon was annoyed about how Rafael interrupted them but he managed to keep it casual and asked, "No, why?"

"He's been very tense lately since Master Dartz took a soul of a girl." Rafael answered as he shrugged his shoulders, which got both Valon and Kylie shocked and they exclaimed "What?!" together.

"The girl was associated with Alister and Dartz took her as Alister's punishment as well as he took her soul." Rafael explained sadly as he saw Alister entering his room sadly, to which both Valon and Kylie came over and they saw Alister slamming his fists against his bed with so much anger while shouting out, "Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!!!"

Kylie felt sorry for him as she watched from the distance and Valon sighed as he saw the look on her face, then he saw Kylie walking over to Alister so she could talk to him. As she did, Valon was just thinking about his and Mai's conversation from earlier.
