Meanwhile in Paradius Headquarters, both Valon and Kylie were hearing that Rafael and Alister had just returned and Rafael told Dartz, "You'll be happy to know the strongest soul on Earth has been captured, Master Dartz."

"Ah yes, the pharaoh." Dartz nodded, just before he let out a sigh and said "Unfortunately, you failed again."

Then he turned his chair around to face Rafael with a displeased look on his face but also kind of had a slight smirk on his lips, and it was then that both Valon and Kylie came out of hiding from behind the curtains as Valon agreed with what Dartz said, "That's right, the soul of the pharaoh is still out there, Rafael."

Both Rafael and Alister gasped together in shock at what Valon said, and Kylie felt relieved inside while Dartz turned on the screen to prove to Rafael why he failed to collect Yami's soul, "Now watch and learn."

So what appeared on the screen was Dartz's lair where he had souls collected by having some carvings of people appearing on the wall and he explained, "The pharaoh's spirit inhabits the body of a young man, and what we have here is a clear case of mistaken identity."

With what he said, Yugi had appeared on the wall which meant that he got his soul taken instead of Yami! Inside, Kylie gasped in shock and she was horrified that she almost felt tears coming out of her eyes, she felt so guilty for having to steal the souls of the innocent even if it was her duty. She just wished she would resign but she knew that she couldn't because she had nowhere else to go and she couldn't let herself suffer by being homeless and trying to steal food from somewhere again.

"Instead of the pharaoh, you got the soul of some kid." Valon pointed out to Rafael, while Kylie tried to keep a straight face so that Valon wouldn't notice her sadness.

"I still don't understand." Rafael said in confusion.

"Then you need to clean out your ears, you oversized baboon. Both of their spirits inhabit one body, get it? You captured the wrong soul." Dartz growled, which made Rafael confused and he asked "But how? I'm pretty sure I was dueling the pharaoh, so the Orichalcos should have sealed him!"

"Well, apparently, you're not as perceptive as you think you are because he got away." Dartz shrugged, which made Rafael furious and he shouted "That punk!"

"There's no one to blame but yourself." Dartz told Rafael sharply, to which Rafael fell to his knees in shame and softly replied with "I can fix this, if you'll let me."

All of a sudden, the gang noticed two unfamiliar people coming over and they were bowing in front of Dartz. They were two short guys, one had glasses and they magnified his eyes(Or so they did), his turquoise hair was arranged in a "Beatles' Haircut" fashion and his eyes were blue, and another had brown hair with dyed purple strands next to his forehead and had purple-blue eyes whenever his irises were shown. The guy with short blue hair who was named Weevil was wearing a closed green jacket with a beetle pattern on the front, black shorts, and green-and-black sneakers with wing shoe laces. The guy with the brown hair who was named Rex wore a green jacket and a yellow shirt underneath, along with brown pants and blue sneakers.

"Might I suggest something, sir?!" Weevil spoke.

"Like a better hideout?" Rex chimed in.

"Quiet!" Weevil hissed while smacking Rex really hard on his head.

"I'm just trying to be helpful." Rex replied in annoyance as he rubbed his head comfortingly.

"Who are these two?" Dartz asked while he glared at the two short guys.

"Haven't you heard of us? Former regional Duel Monsters champions?" Rex asked, as he seemed not pleased with Dartz not recognizing him and Weevil. With what he said, Kylie assumed that they were famous Duelists like Yugi Muto, Seto and Sora Kaiba were.
