Ch. 42 The first, and possibly last kiss

Meanwhile, both Valon and Kylie who appeared to have their helmets on because Valon was riding his motorcycle were both in Domino because they were both getting ready to duel their targets Joey and Sora. Soon Valon stopped his bike and both he & Kylie got off together as they removed their helmets, and Valon turned to Kylie as he told her, "So... Off to deal with our targets, huh, Ky?"

Kylie slowly nodded in response. She was nervous, but she knew that she had to go through with this if she didn't want for Dartz to steal her soul himself. Valon noticed her face so he wrapped his arm around her shoulder as he told her comfortingly, "Hey. You can do it. I know you can."

Kylie smiled softly as she looked up to face him, "I know I can. I just have to try again."

Valon smiled back at her, then he got ready to confess his feelings for her so he took her hands in his and looked into her green eyes, "Ky... I have something to tell you before we go in separate ways."

"What is it?" Kylie asked as her eyes beamed up with curiosity, and Valon sighed before he began to speak.

"Ever since you came... I couldn't help but think about you. When you came here, all mute and scared... I felt a pang in my heart. I wanted to protect you from everything that wanted to hurt you."

Kylie was surprised at the words Valon was telling her, and she was filling with hope. Valon smiled and placed his hand on her cheek so he could stroke it softly as he continued on, "And when you spoke for the first time, I felt overjoyed to hear your voice. I felt my heart melt at that sound. At that moment... I became closer and closer with you. I wanted to spend every single minute with you."

Kylie felt her heart melting even more at his words, then she closed her eyes and leaned into his touch as well as she held his hand that stroked her cheek. Then Valon wrapped his arms around Kylie's waist, "Kylie... I have grown to love you. I love everything about you. Your hair, your eyes, your smile, your soft voice, your kindness, your caring nature. I could count a number of things, but what I'm trying to say is that..."

He hesitated for a moment, but then he took a deep breath as he gained the courage and told her what he had been wanting to tell her for a long time, "I love you."

Kylie her heart soaring at his every words and she was really excited inside that Valon actually returned her feelings, but she knew that she couldn't show it so she looked back to when he saved Mai or seemed like he liked her, then she got nervous at those thoughts, "But... I thought you liked Mai?"

"Nah, she always liked Wheeler." Valon replied as his eyes and smile softened. "But I always liked you, and I always will."

Now Kylie felt her heart soaring even more, then her eyes met his as she slowly moved closer to him as she felt her hand touching his face, to which Valon did the same thing to her as he looked deeply into Kylie's own green eyes. With that, Kylie felt herself wanting to kiss him but she didn't want to seem too creepy so she refrained herself from making the first move. Valon noticed so he leaned in, pressing his lips against hers. Kylie's eyes widened and her heart was beating fast, but then she slowly closed her eyes and kissed him right back as she felt like her lips were about to burn at any second because his lips were really warm and soft just like the rest of him was.

Valon was thinking how he finally had the chance to kiss her and hold her close to him, while Kylie put both of her hands to his chest as she kept kissing him and thought about how she had always wanted to be able to kiss him and be with him ever since she first met him when he showed her compassion after she spent her whole life feeling like a wild animal living by herself. All she knew was that she was finally kissing the boy... No, the man she's always loved her whole life.

Valon held her closer to him and didn't want to let go, he felt guilty for making her upset about him & Mai and he wanted to treasure every moment before going to duel Joey. While Valon felt guilty about him and Mai, Kylie was also having the same feeling of guilt because the fact that she thought that he had feelings for Mai was all just a misunderstanding, and she also had this feeling of wanting to treasure every moment before she could duel Sora and this time go through with playing the Seal of Orichalcos.

Soon they pulled away and he kissed her forehead affectionately, while Kylie put her head on his chest as she wanted to take a moment to hear his heartbeat before they could go their separate ways to duel their targets Joey and Sora. Valon held her head and ran his fingers through her hair, while Kylie on the other hand really didn't want to be away from him and she didn't want for him to let go, but the best thing she could do was go through the duel with Sora so that she can be with Valon one more time.

"Ay, lass. Come on. We got duels to duel." Valon suddenly announced before he kissed her head.

Kylie smiled softly and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, you're right."

Valon pecked her lips one last time and whispered, "I love you."

Then he took in her scent and thought, 'I want this to last forever.'

Kylie put her head on his chest again one more time as she took in his scent, then she whispered, "I love you too." as she also felt like she wished that this would last forever just like Valon did. But they had to pull away, as their hands were touching. Then their hands slowly parted as they both began searching for their targets, but before they separated, Kylie blew him a kiss. Valon chuckled and sent her a wink, to which Kylie giggled and blushed before going to find Sora. Valon smiled and also blushed before he sat on his bike and put his helmet on so he could ride his bike to find Joey.

As Kylie ran to go find Sora, she had a big smile on her face as well as she had a huge blush on her cheeks. She just had her first kiss with Valon, the man she had always loved since Day 1, and because of that, she now actually felt like she had the strength to go through with the duel against Sora even if she had to play the Seal of Orichalcos card.
