Ch. 43 An angry challenge

Meanwhile, Seto, Sora, Yami and Lea had all made it back to Arthur's trailer. It appeared that Duke, Marcella, Mokuba and Rebecca were all outside of the trailer. At the sight of Mokuba, Lea quickly ran over to him and hugged him really tight. Mokuba was a bit surprised, but as soon as he realized who was hugging him, he relaxed and hugged her back.

"You okay, Lea?" He whispered to her.

Lea nodded and whispered back, "I'm fine, Mokie. I'm just glad I made it back."

With that, she buried her face in his shoulder and sighed as she filled her lungs with the scent of him. Rebecca smiled a little as she watched Lea and Mokuba hug each other, but she frowned and looked down sadly as she felt a little jealous... She wished that Yugi was right next to her and holding her the same way Mokuba was doing to Lea right now.

All of a sudden, Mokuba looked up and saw that his older siblings and Yami had also shown up as well as Lea did, so he got himself out of Lea's arms and happily ran towards them as he called out to them, "Hey, guys! You made it! We were worried about you four for a second there."

"We're fine, Mokie." Sora smiled at her little brother.

"Yeah, and now that we know who we're after, it's time to crash their little party." Seto chimed in firmly. 

"Well, we better act fast, cause Joey ran off to find these Paradius guys on his own." Rebecca explained urgently, which made Sora shocked as she knew that Joey was possibly dueling against Valon right now!

"We have to get there before he does." Yami agreed, with the same level of urgency.

"He better not screw this up for me." Seto growled, just before Tristan and Tea suddenly showed up.

"Hey, we've got bigger problems, guys. Those same monsters we saw on the desert are roaming the city!" Tea reported, which made Yami, Sora and Lea all shocked as they exclaimed "Oh no!" together.

"Let's go, we can all jump in my car." Duke announced to the gang.

"Good idea." Yami agreed, just before he and the others were about to head to Duke's car, but then...

"I'm afraid things are even worse than you can imagine." Came Arthur's voice, which surprised the gang.

"What is it, Gramps?" Rebecca inquired.

"What do these creatures want?" Sora also asked.

"According to the evening news: Thousands of people around the world are suddenly collapsing in the streets, and falling into a state of unconsciousness." Arthur answered, which shocked the gang.

"¡Ay no!" Marcella exclaimed.

"It's those monsters." Tea also exclaimed, as she trembled a bit.

"They must be using the power of the Oricalchos to capture people's souls!" Rebecca claimed, which made Lea feel tense and she put both of her hands to her head in exasperation.

"God!" She whispered, and Mokuba noticed her stress so he placed his hand to her shoulder to reassure her that things were gonna be okay.

"It would appear so." Arthur replied to his granddaughter in agreement.

"Oh, and did I mention that every police officer in this town is under their spell too?" Tea suddenly added, which shocked Lea even more.

"¡Pinche cabron!" (Translation: Damn bastard!) Marcella growled as she was furious at Dartz's antics around the world. She just hoped that she would find him... and kill him.
