Sonic X: Penny's Tale: Book One

Cruise Blues

Penny: "We were all pretty worn out from searching for the Chaos Emeralds and fighting Dr. Eggman."

Chris: "Penny and I have a long vacation ahead of us, so....."

"I know just what you need." Dad smiled at Chris and Penny when they complained about how tired they were after all of this excitement that has been going on. "Why don't you take Grandpa and your friends on a cruise? I'm not using the yacht right now. You can take in some sun and maybe get a look at the glaciers!"

Penny: "So that's just what we did! Nothing but relaxation and fun in the sun.  (turns to her friends) "We'll get to the glaciers in about four days!" She said, smiling at the others.

"FOUR DAYS?!!" Poor Sonic flipped out when Penny told him that.

"You mean we're only halfway there?!" Blaze asked, surprised at how long the trip would take.

"These yachts sure go slow, don't they?" Cream asked. Cheese chaoed in response.

"Gimme a break, will ya?" Sonic whimpered, clinging to Penny's shoulders as she laid down on a fold-up chair, smiling down at her blue best friend. "Come on, Penny, I don't take to water. Can't you see I'm getting seasick here?!" He cried while shaking her a little. She smiled and chuckled.

"PLEASE, PENNY, I BEG YOU!" He pleaded. "I'M GOING CRAZY!" Sonic left the red-blond haired girls' side and dashed around the ship. "GET ME OFF OF THIS THING!!"

Chris: "Later that night...."

Penny and her friends all sat in the living space of the ship next to Chuck and Chris. Chuck sighed happily. "There. I feel so much better now!"

Chris looked over at their grandpa. "Did you take those seasick pills the doctor gave you?"

"Sure thing, my boy. And now that old Grandpa is feeling better, we're going to have a lot of fun!"

"Yeah!" They all replied in unison.

"You bet." Grandpa smiled, and burst out laughing, and then fell into slumber. Penny eyed him with an amused glance.

"Grandpa sure is enjoying himself." Silver remarked. Tails looked at Penny, and Chris. "Hey, Penny, Chris, I know we're supposed to be relaxing and all, but what's there to do here?"

"There's lots of stuff," Penny said to the fox. "Why not go to a swim?"

A blue blur swept past them, and Penny was the only one who noticed it as Amy snarled at Tails for being rude. "Tails is just being rude! Don't pay any attention to him, Chris and Penny!" Amy said, holding Cheese in her arms.

"That's right, Tails." Cream said as Silver, Cloud, and Blaze chuckled in amusement. "Don't forget, Chris and Penny's father let us use this yacht with the goodness of his heart! We should be grateful!"

Cheese chirped a little as Amy left his side to scold Tails. "Well, Tails?" She asked, putting her hands to her chest. The orange-yellow two-tailed fox smiled sheepishly. "Haha, ok, I'm grateful!"

"Tails will be ok," Penny said. "I'm just worried about Sonic. I've never seen him this terrified. I mean, he was clinging to me tightly when we first boarded. I wonder why. Usually I'm the one clinging to him." Penny chuckled.

Sonic zoomed past them again.

"There he goes again." Blaze said.

"Wow. You're kidding me." Cloud said, eyeing Sonic curiously. 

"Silver and I've seen Sonic go stir crazy before, but we've never seen anything as bad as this!" Tails gasped. 

Sonic zoomed past again.
