A Dastardly Deed

"X Tornado, let's go!" Tails called out in excitement. The trees on each edge of the road fell back, giving Tails more room to fly. "Let's take off!" He said and took off. "Hold on tight, Sonic and Silver!" He told the blue and silver hedgehogs, who were riding on the front of the plane. "It's time to deploy our stabilizing wings!"

"Do you think they'll be able to find that seventh Chaos Emerald, Mr. Thorndyke?" Francis asked Chris and Penny's grandpa. Chuck thought for a moment. "It's possible," he said finally. "But they're not the only ones looking for it."

"Don't you worry, Creamy." Ella smiled at the little bunny. "They're going to find that emerald before you know it."

"Any sign of that Emerald, Tails?" Amy asked the fox. "Nope." Tails said.

"Wow, this is so great!" Danny smiled excitedly as he looked out the window of the X Tornado. Penny, however, wasn't too excited about this. She looked ahead to see Sonic and Silver scouting ahead.

"Hey, come on, are you going to help or not?" Danny asked the girl.

"Oh, yeah, sure," Penny said. However, when Danny looked out the window with a pair of binoculars, Penny looked down, looking glum.

Eggman laughed as he watched Sonic race around town.

"It looks like Dr. Eggman is in a good mood." Decoe informed Bocoe. "Yes," Bocoe said. "But he does seem especially confident, doesn't he?"

"Something tells me that this is going to be a very lucky day." He smirked. "In fact, those Chaos Emeralds are as good as mine if I play my cards right."

"Your cards," Bocoe said as he handed Eggman his cards.

"No need," Eggman said. "I've already chosen my weapon!"

"Hu?" Both robots asked in confusion.

"You mean a new weapon, doctor?" Bocoe asked. "But what is it?"

"The suspension is killing me!" Decoe said.

Dr. Eggman unleashed the entrance bridge, and a tiny robot the shape of a bell wobbled out, beeping as he went. Both robots gasped as the new bot tripped.

"You have got to be kidding, doctor?" Decoe said.

"That is the strangest looking bot I have ever seen!" Bocoe said.

"Sure he may look like a loser, but Lucky here is exactly the charm we need to capture the final Chaos Emerald!"

Both robots gasped in excitement.

"That's right," Eggman said. "You see, our plucky little pal here possesses that one exclusive quality that will make the emerald practically drop into our waiting hands! So, I guess."

"What is it?" Both robots asked.

"It's luck!"

"Luck?!"

"Just you wait. With Lucky on our side, we'll have that Emerald in no time. Good luck, Lucky, and bring back the prize." He smiled at the little bell-shaped robot as it ventured through the forest.

Just like everyone else, Knuckles had gone searching for the seventh Chaos Emerald as well, only using the help of the ruby red emerald he held in his hands. He frowned thoughtfully at it and looked up. "This planet isn't so bad, I suppose." He told himself. "But I'd do anything to get back home. What did that voice say?"
