Jazmin's P.O.V.

I wave to James to get his attention. I hardly got any sleep last night and I need help walkin straight. He drapes his arm around my shoulders and takes my bag from me.

Saying bye was harder than I thought it'd be. It hurt a lot to say it to him, but I had to before I left. He said it was okay and he understands but I saw how disappointed he was. I felt really bad but I knew I was doing the right thing. I don't know a lot but one thing I do know is that I had to do this. I had to think of myself and what I really felt I had to do. Thinking of myself is helping others in this case.

The choice wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. I had my mind made up when I first told him. There was no way I could be talked out of it. He has done things to me no one else has been able to, and I wasn't going to take that for granted.

"Tell me I didn't fuck up." I stop dead in my tracks and look up at James.

"You didn't fuck up." He says sternly. "It isn't what he completely wanted but he'll get over it."

"You didn't see the way he looked at me though." I close my eyes seeing the image again.."You didn't see how hurt he was."

"But I see how hurt you are. That's enough to show me how he must have been. He'll be okay. I promise." He encourages me to keep walking up the steps.

"I'm nervous." I step back. "I can't do this."

"If you stop now, everything you did would have been for nothing."

This wasn't for nothing. I grab his harm and pull him along side me. It doesn't completely sink in until I knock on the familiar door. I have been terrified of what he is going to say the entire two hour drive.

I am not surprised to see him open the door. What I am surprised to see is the frown still set on his face. His head hangs pretty low until he slowly tilts it back to see who we are.

"Wha.. What are you doing?" His eyes go wide and I hope I am not mistaken to to see the little glee in them.

"Miss us?" James' voice is soft and hopeful.

We have so- too much hope.

"What is the hold u- Oh my goodness! Ben! She's here!" Marley's tia(aunt) May goes around him to hug me. I haven't seen her in over a year. She treated me as if I were her own child. It's weird that I feel like Marley's family is more my family than my own, but it's true. They were all so welcoming of me. I hadn't known how much missed the family feel until now, being pulled into the house uninvited, but completely welcome. "James! It's been forever! Look at you. The both of you have caught up to her haven't you." She pulls James in to the house and closes the door.

"We don't mean to intrude bu-"

"No intrusion! I'm so glad to see you! I didn't know you were coming. Marley, you should have said something earlier." She beams at us still standing in the small hallway.

"I am just as surprised as you are." He mumbles.

"James, Ben has been wanting to show you what he has done to the old shack." She grabs a hold of James and begins to pull him towards the back of the house before he can object, not that he would.

"What are you doing here?" He asks again when they're out of earshot.

"I'm sorry." I blurt out. "I just had to see if you were okay. Are you mad?" I do the stupid weird thing where I put my hands behind my back and go on my tippy toes. Stupid habits die hard.

"Furious." He looks it too. He sighs and his face turns less harsh.. "You're a little nuts, you now that?"

"So I have been told." I bite on my bottom lip and look down. "I needed to come."
