Jazmin's P.O.V.

I want to say that I can come back from this, but I can't. He is too good at this for me to be able to win.

"Nice to know you still won't go easy on me." I continue to push random buttons in hopes that I won't die so quickly.

"Makes it easier since you picked the ugliest character." His player comes at me, swinging his leg, but I block it and use the blades in my arms to punch him.

"Baraka isn't ugly." I huff. "He isn't ashamed to cover his face like yours."

NO!.. I scream in my head.

"Well.." He pulls his special move making my player defenseless as he gets his skull and all his bones snapped. I have to look away. "Looks don't really matter."

I know there is no chance in me winning, even with another round left. I barely won the first round. This round, well, I didn't do well at all. The third round is going to make me scream my head off.

I crawl to him on my knees and sit on his lap. Him being the competitive person he is, doesn't look away from the television screen. I shouldn't cheat, but all rules have been out the window since he knocked the remote out of my hand a couple rounds ago.

He raps his arms around me and rests his chin on my shoulder when his stupid player takes a stupid bow after winning.

"You kinda suck." He says when I purposely squirm against him.

"You kinda love it." I stop and try to break free from his stupid assault against poor Baraka that just started. I'm sorry for sucking so much, Baraka. I haven't played in a while.

"Stop cheating." He laughs when I cover his view with my head. I push A repeatedly not letting him do anything back until he blocks it. I put my remote aside and turn around so that we're face to face. "Don't do i-" but I do. I kiss him and I hear a clatter that tells me He dropped his remote. I drag it out for as long as I can, enjoying every second until I hear it.

"Ha!" I shout in his face. "I win." He looks behind me to see time has run out and since I had more life, I won. "Looks don't really matter, but hormones do."

"You did not." He gapes at me.

"I did so." I stick my tongue out at him. I'm not 18. I'm 8.

He jokingly chomps at me and I flinch, making me stumble back and hit the floor. The both of us start laughing as the door opens.

"Hi James." I say and try to get up, but stop when I decide I'm comfortable this way. "It's about time you showed up." But thank God he didn't walk in a minute ago.

I don't think Marley and I are sneaking around. We haven't exactly told anyone, besides a little girl who keeps all our secrets. We are the same now then when we are around everyone else, minus the public displays of affection. PDA has always made me a little uncomfortable and Marley knows that, so regardless if anyone knows or not, we wouldn't be completely affectionate in front of them.

"I would have been here sooner, but Marley's mom talked to me for a while." He sits down on the floor next to Marley.

"About?" Marley asks.

"The whole detective situation." He mumbles. I still haven't had a chance to talk to him about it, but I guess he doesn't want to because he changes the subject. "So this is what you two are doing on a Friday night?"

"Yes." I kick my foot up in the air for no reason, making me fall o Dr on ny side when it comes back down. "This week has been stressful, but Marley and I have finished all of our overdue work and we wanted to have some fun so we resorted to videogames."
