Sam's P.O.V.
Somewhere in between me asking her to stop crying and her actually stopping her sad cries, she fell asleep. It was almost impossible to sleep afterwards but I got a couple hours in.
I have been awake for almost half an hour, just holding her as she sleeps. I have been planning this day for a while and it was suppose to be on Saturday, but today is just as good a day to do it.
The little mumbles coming out of her mouth amuse me. I wonder what is going through her head. I love listening to her small breaths that come after. Her cheeks have dry tears streamed down her face. Her nose is still rosy pink and the rest of her face is pale. I know the last thing she'll want to do today is go out, but I hope she's curious enough to want to go with me.
She stirs in her sleep after I want h her for a few more minutes and opens her eyes.
Dark. Lost. Sad.
"Morning beautiful."
She just nods and closes her eyes again. She hugs me, tighter and comfortably. What I have been needing for hours.
"I know you just want to lay here all day but that won't help. I'm not sure what I have in mind will help, but you need to do this with me." I say after a while, knowing that the earlier we do this, the earlier she can can find out what she has been wanting to know ever since that day.
"I trust you." Is all she says.
We get ready in silence. She isn't acting like herself and barely looks like herself. The few minutes she's in the bathroom, I hear her sniffling. She might have a cold after crying so much. She's so strong. Does she have any idea just how strong she is..
"Sam, can I borrow something warm?" She asks me once she walks out of the bathroom.
"Yeah, sure. No problem." I pick out a sweater and help her put it on.
"Thank you." She says with hardly an emotion behind it.
I don't tell the boys we're leaving becayse they're probably still asleep. I asked if I could borrow his car last night and he said he'd leave the keys on the stairs, exactly where I found them. Ten minutes into the car ride, Jazmin worries me by not saying anything.
"Please say something. Anything.. please.."
"Sam, where are we going?" She asks, drogilly and clearly tired.
"Multiple places. First place is Marley's house."
"Why?" Not a hint of anything in her plain question. I don't like this at all.
"Because you need this."
"Okay."
When we get there and I run to the other side of the car to open the door, she stares blankly at the house. She gets out if the car with my help and slowly walks up to the front door. I made sure to text Marley before so he'd know we were coming. I knock twice and a only a few seconds later we are greeted my Marley's mom.
"Jazmin. Sam. What a surprise!" She pulls Jazmin into a hug and I see the smallest hint of happiness since last night on her face as she let's go. Jazmin walks in and Marley's mom brings me into a hug. "Thank you for taking care of my baby girl. I know she's been going through so much lately, even though hardly anyone tells me anything anymore." She pulls away with her hands on my shoulders. "But thank you so much."
"Consider us even." I nod and she smiles, rushing me into the house, pointing in the direction where everyone must be.
I walk in to see Marley hugging her and James waiting his turn. Marley walks up to me when she goes to hug James.
