Jazmin's P.O.V.

"So are you two coming?" Jeremy asks. "We'll make sure not to leave you behind."

"I'd love to, but I have a date." I finish copying down his paper over for him and hand it back. He grabs it but doesn't move a muscle after. "What?"

"A date?" He asks. "With?"

Shit.

"With uh.." I might as well tell him now. I was going to later anyways. "I'm going on a date with M-"

"Look what we have here." She interrupts me.

Jeremy and I both turn to her, except I don't give her an angered look like he does.

"What do you want?" He doesn't seem interested at all, but being family, he can't just turn his back completely. He's told me he's tried. Jeremy is too nice for that.

"I need you to stop being a little bitch and ask your dad if he's coming over later."

"You're such a bitch." He turns away from her and she smiles. It seems like there is something other than what she called him that bothered him, but I don't know what.

"Hi girl. How's it going?" She puts her hand on my desk and I stare at it, picturing it burning so that it'll move, but it doesn't burn and it stays where it is. I look back up to her. Her crooked smile with glossy lips looking sinister as ever.

"I have a name."

"Don't get all defensive." She leans against my desk and I cross my arms as I lean back, trying to create some distance. Why the fuck is she here and why the fuck won't she leave me alone. "I heard you moved out of their house." Her smile grows. "What? They finally get tired of you? Did Sam finally come to his senses?"

"Emma, stop it." Jeremy slams  his hand on the desk, causing everyone around us to stare. After a few seconds, they go back to what they were doing, but I can tell they're still trying to listen in.

"No, no. It's okay. I rather she bother me than someone else." I smile back at her. Her smirk fades as she stands up straighter.

"You know, you can't keep me from him forever."

"I'm not trying to. He's ignoring you on his own. He ignores your calls, he deletes your texts, he walks faster in the hallway when you yell his name." I'm sure the truth hurts. "I will not force him to do anything he doesn't want to do."

"Fuck you." She turns to Jeremy. "Ask your fucking dad." She turns around to walk away. Jeremy stands up and yanks her back by the arm. "Ow, what the fuck Jeremy! We aren't five anymore."

"You need to keep your mouth shut, Emma. I honestly don't know what's wrong with you, but my cousin never acted the way you do now."

"There's nothing wrong with me. You know there's something wrong with you though. We both do and soon everyone else will to." She says and he let's go of her.

"Is there a problem here?" I'm not sure what our teacher was doing before, but he has just now noticed what was going on.

"No." Her smirk is back. "Jeremy is just upset about his daddy issues."

Jeremy returns to his seat and faces my direction but keeps his gaze at the wall behind me.

"Emma, You should go back to class."

"Sure, mister. I'll be back next period." She skips out of the room, leaving the room silent. At least until everyone begins to talk about what just happened.

"Jeremy, are you okay?" I ask. He jumps when I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Uh, yeah." He nods. "So, thanks for copying this for me."
