Jazmin's P.O.V.

"Well, look at where we are." Sam says smiling and I realize we are in the spot where we first made contact.

"I need to stop being so clumsy." I say trying to say quietly. I don't know why though.

"Got your stuff from the car. I know where everyone will be but you are missing one thing." He tells me.

"That is..?"

"Something to get in the water with." I hear stickers from behind me and realize that they are still behind us.

"Nice chat ladies. Hope we talk again soon, maybe. Probably not." I mumble the last part while rushing away holding Sam's hand.

"What was that about?" Sam says trying to stop walking. I released his hand and keep walking towards the boardwalk. I start to walk down the hill and Sam catches up and begins to walk next to me.

"Jazmin? What was that about?"

"What was what about?" I ask.

"Those girls.." He says unsure. "They said something? Didn't they.." He sounds so sure of himself.

"Yeah, so?" I say reaching the bottom.

"We don't have to talk about this now, but you have to tell an what they said.. we shouldn't have secrets when it comes to this. You know we're in this together right?"

"I know. I JUSY don't want to ruin this nice day. So what is it that I need.." I ask impatiently.

"Not my words, but someone said.. get her a bikini that scream wowi mama."

"What the fuck.."

"Like I said not my words, but tee hat was the request."

"Marley is a weirdo."

"How did y-"

"I know my best friend." I laugh. "Now, I am not going.g to do that because I will JUSY look like a beached wake but. will get something, there." I point at the small store with swimming stuff.

We walk over and I scan the racks. I really hate showing skin in front of people, but it can be my next step to feeling completely free.

"You won't look like a beached whale." He says making me smile a little.

"Thanks for the compliment?" I don't know how to respond. "I like this top.. but I have to wear shorts bec-"

"Do what you want." He kisses my cheek reassuringly.

I trust o pay for it but Sam doesn't let me. Not that I have much money to spend. All I have is my savings. Not much, but enough to keep going on alone for a while, but with all these boys, they don't let me pay for anything. No matter what i say, they won't let me.

I do to the bathroom and pull off my shirt and put on the top. I feel so weird having to walk out. I put on the bottom part too just in case.l, but I doubt I will take of the shorts. I stand there awkwardly starting at myself in the mirror. I have too much fat in places where I shouldn't. I am no longer the skinny twig I was always teased as being. I was no longer that scared little girl. I was this. I was me now.

I check my phone and see that Sam texted me.

"Sorry I was kinda mobbed outside the bathroom so I had to lead them away. You want to wait for me or go on your own? If you want to head there, it's the first life guard station." I read aloud feeling crazy in the small stall now. I don't think anyone heard me, but still. I walk out of the stall and throw my bag over my shoulder and begin to walk back up the board walk until I reach the stairs leading down to the beach. I must have taken longer than Sam must of thought, because I see him walking towards the group as if he just arrived. It looks like he asked something and everyone turns around in different directions and shrug.
