Marley's P.O.V.
"Anything?" She asks urgently, her hand clutching her chest.
"No." I shake my head and close the door behind me. "I didn't find anything. Did anyone else?"
It looks like her heart just sinks.
"They're not back yet." She sits down on the bottom steps of the stairs. "It's been over a day, Marley. I've called him over a hundred times."
"I have too and it's going straight to voicemail. He has it off." I say knowing that doesn't help.
"I told you to let me go." She says through her teeth. "You wouldn't let me go."
"I'm not trying to fight with you." I walk away not caring how much it would hurt her.
My best friend is missing. No one can find him. No one has seen him. I'm running out of ideas.
"His mom doesn't have a clue where he is either." Her voice is small, following me into the kitchen.
"I know. I called her." I stare anywhere but in her direction.
I don't know how to feel about the whole thing. It hurts really bad. The last conversation the three of us had. I can't even imagine how James is feeling. I haven't slept more than a handful of hours since he didn't come back that night.
It's like everything stooped and it turned really serious. Cameron and Nash helped try to find him hut eventually went home. Cindy said she didn't want to be a bother and asked for a ride home. All of us searched the neighborhood but found nothing to lead us to him.
"It just came out." She catches my attention. "I was hurt. I didn't mean to say that."
"I know. You've said that too many times I lost count. That isn't going to bring him back." I say the truth.
I just want to know where he is. He better not be doing anything stupid.
"I hope he's okay."
So do I.
We stand their in silence until we heat the front door open and shut closed.
"Guys?"
"In here." I answer Jc.
Jazmin just looks at me and then to the floor. It's like she is giving up with each minute. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up.
"Good new and bad news." He says.
"What's the good news?" I ask.
"A lady at a bar some him the other night."
"A bar?" Jazmin asks. "James doesn't drink."
"That's not like him."
"She said that he only asked for water and then he left. Bad news, we don't know where to go from there."
"Thanks Jc." She huffs and walks away. Slamming the door to her room.
"Did I say something?" He asks turning around down the hall and back over and over again.
"She's just frustrated." I shrug. "So he went into the bar to get water?"
"The bar is a few minutes away. The lady said that he looked unsure of what yo do so he must have not of known it was a bar until he was inside. She said he just sat there with his head low most of the time, but he was only there for a few minutes and he was gone. We asked around more stores around there but no one else saw him." He explains. "How can he just disappear just like that?"
