Sam's P.O.V.

I kept running towards her. The faster I ran, the more I felt like she went faster, because she got further away. What if this goes on forever? When is she going to stop? Or at least slow down?

Right when I was about to give up, I spotted a little girl and her mom walking towards a trashcan. I stopped running and walked over to them.

"Excuse me? Sorry, to bother you, but are you going to throw that away?" I asked the girl about the orange in her hand.

"Yes, I was." She replied innocently.

"Well, would you mind if I have it?" I asked her politely. We both looked up at her mom. Her mom looked at me and back at the little girl and nodded. She handed me the orange and smiled.

"Thank you so much!" I thanked her and started running again.

"No problem, stranger!" The girl yelled to me.

I smiled and kept running to the girl. When I felt like I was close enough, I stopped and began to scan the place, to make sure if this went badly, I wouldn't hurt anyone. I suck at throwing. When I thought it was clear enough, I threw the orange towards her, hoping it would land somewhere in front of her so she could see it and at least  take a couple seconds to slow down and wonder about it. I mean, I'd do the same if an orange was thrown in front of me.

But it didn't land in front of her.

Jazmin's P.O.V.

"Oww!" I screamed as I fell of my skateboard.

What the hell was that? I looked around and saw the suspect. It rolled over to me after bouncing off a bench. An orange? Why on Earth would I be hit on the head with an orange, in Santa Monica? I got up and picked up my skateboard. It wasn't until then, I noticed someone starring at me.

"Um, hi?" I said shyly.

"Sorry about that.." He said looking down.

"Sorry about what?"

He pointed at the orange in my hand. So it was him? Then I realized he was that guy I bumped into earlier.

"Oh my gosh, I said I was sorry for bumping into you. Did you really need to follow me and assault me with citrus fruit?" I asked him with disbelief. He just starred until what I said to him finally hit him.

"No, no, no! I didn't mean to hit you. You dropped these!" He held out my earphones. "I was just trying to get your attention. I followed you from all the way over there." He pointed in the direction of where I bumped into him. "You're really fast."

"Oh well, thanks.. but you know you could've just yelled after me instead of throwing fruit." I said, smiling shyly feeling bad for accusing him. He smiled and put his hand out so I could take my earphones. I reached over and grabbed them. Our fingers made contact for two seconds, and I snapped my head up to look at him already looking back at me.

"I'm Sam by the way." He said breaking the silence. Jeez, how long was I starring at him for.

"Oh, umm.. I'm uh, .. Guspacho." I said nervously and awkwardly. He looked at me weird, but then burst out laughing. I slapped myself on the head and put my face in my hands. "Sorry."

"You're funny." Sam said after he finished laughing. "But I'd like to know you're real name."

I finally looked up at him. He smiled at me. His smile is contagious. I found myself smiling back. I felt my face and it was warm, which means it was red from embarrassment. I tried to calm myself by slapping my cheeks lightly.
