I have nothing to say other than I don't actually know where this chapter is going, I just thought there needed to be a conclusion...
Enjoy :)
Ahsoka tried to calm herself, and with a little deep breathing before she got off the ship, she was able to. Her feet hit the dry grass and she fought back the urge to take her shoes off. The grass, the sun, even just the smell of the air around her brought distant memories to the front of her brain. She marched forward. The first village is what hurt the most. Just the design of the houses brought her back. She stared intently at the sight in front of her- mothers with their children, little ones playing on the streets, these were former slaves, like she had been, like her family had been, but they were freed. They didn't die in slavery like her family had.
It took Anakin's hand laying heavily on her shoulder before she snapped back to the present. He nodded knowingly at her at led her in the right direction, towards where the clones were handing out supplies. She was able to get herself out of her head for a little while while she helped with the distribution of supplies. She was heavily needed since of them, she was the only one who could speak fluent Togruti, and very few of the Togruta they were helping knew basic.
They moved to a second village around noon, it was only a couple miles but they were shoving crates of supplies that slowed them down enough to make the walk unenjoyable. Anakin tried to talk to Ahsoka but both she didn't want to talk, and Anakin was pulled away to help a clone with some dumb injury he had gotten himself. That left Ahsoka relatively to herself for the most part. It wasn't bad until they reached the village. It was too familiar. The layout- the houses against the streets, the edge of the woods and the river flowing through the middle, everything was too familiar. Then it hit her; this was home.
This was the place she had called home for three years, this is where she learned to walk, to speak, this is where she had those blurry memories of her brother, standing here she could practically hear her mother's voice calling to her to come for dinner and her father's booming laughter.
It was Anakin's voice that snapped her back. "Hey, Snips," He started. She could hear him, but she didn't really think hard enough to respond. She just let the memories flood back. "Look at me." This is what brought her back. Her head whipped in his direction where his face was laced in concern. "You okay?"
She hesitated. She definitely wasn't okay, but she had to push on. She was needed. Ahsoka nodded and turned towards the clones instead of to the village she grew up in. Anakin definitely wasn't convinced but let her go. There was no way she could avoid this, the ship was nearly four miles away and she wasn't about to walk there herself. She tried to stay as far away from the village as possible at first, but one of the clones called for her when they couldn't understand the conversation.
(Togruti in italics because my Togruti translator isn't complete and it looks weird when I use it)
"What is your business here?" A middle aged woman asked. Ahsoka saw nothing familiar about her and continued.
"We come from Coruscant, the Republic has offered relief supplies for some of the villages that had been enslaved." She tried to look sympathetic and it must have worked, because a smile crept onto the woman's face and she turned to talk to the others behind her. They lined up when a crate of food was brought out.
Ahsoka stepped back again, running into a man much older than the woman.
"Sorry sir," She told him as they broke apart.
"It's alright." He paused and looked at her. "Are you from here?" He asked.
Ahsoka hesitated but continued anyway. "Many years ago," She answered sadly before turning to walk away.
"Tano?" She stopped dead in her tracks at her name. She turned back towards him, fear in her eyes. "The Jedi, Tano?"
"You know me?"
"You were one of the few Togruta Jedi, most of us know of you." He stared lovingly at her like her father might have had he still been alive.
Ahsoka paused, fearing the answer to a question she was about to ask. "Did... Did you know my family?" The man had a soft, gentle look on his face. Anakin was behind her now, understanding enough to get the point across. Ahsoka had taken to teaching him some Togruti in the years they had been together, and it has now proven to come in handy.
"I did." Ahsoka sucked in a breath, urging him to say more. "Your parents passed a few years ago, but your siblings are still here." Ahsoka's eyes went wide at the thought. The brother she didn't even remember the name of, the sister she wasn't sure even existed, they were alive, she still had family. It took Anakin appearing at her side to bring her from her thoughts.
"Where are they?" She asked with an heir of urgency in her voice. "Please,"
The man gestured towards the village and continued walking. Ahsoka looked at Anakin and tried to form words. "My family, they're-"
Anakin cut her off. "Go, I'll be here." He had the biggest smile on his face, knowing that she would get what he didn't; a chance to say goodbye. Something she had given up on ever having the chance to do.
Following the man, he led her to a small hut. The knocking on wood made Ahsoka's heart flutter. This was it. She was about to meet people she had dreamed of meeting her entire life. The door creaked open to reveal a young man of about twenty or twenty one, matching Ahsoka's image of her brother. His facial markings slightly resembled Ahsoka's with the wing shapes on his cheeks and other more random white markings on his head.
"Chief," He started. He had a small child in his arms of only a year or so old and girl of only eleven or twelve on his tail, followed by a woman the same age as him. "Who is this?" Her brother asked. He looked on her with some heartache, like he didn't want to believe Ahsoka resembled his long lost sister.
"This is your sister, Nuru." He had a gentle smile on his face and stepped back to let the family reunion commence. Ahsoka stared longingly at him, studying every part of him. He handed the child to who Ahsoka assumed was his wife. That name, Nuru, it felt so normal to her like she had said it her whole life. Before she could try it out however, he spoke first.
"Ahsoka?" His voice was on the verge of cracking. She didn't bother trying to speak. Nuru wrapped her up in a hug as she spoke.
"Sa'daar," She whispered. "Brother."
"You're really home? You came back?" He asked as they pulled apart. The tween girl behind him started towards Ahsoka as she spoke.
"Not forever. But I'm here for today." Ahsoka smiled when she saw how similar the girl was to herself, a little tall, a deeper orange color to her skin but the white markings on her face resembled Ahsoka's even more than her brother's did. The wings on her cheeks and a few diamonds and stripes scattered on her forehead. "And what's your name?" She asked lovingly.
"Sabah. Is it really you Ahsoka?"
"It's really me. I'm really home."
Happiness <3
Okay so that was something. It was a pretty okay ending if I do say so myself. If anyone really wants a part 3 I can do it, but I thought it ended pretty well here and I didn't feel like going even more in depth and adding another thousand words right now lol
Also I have to mention, I hit 5k views just a couple days ago and we're literally almost at 6k right now. That's really crazy to me.
Anyhow, have a good night/day/whatever and I'll see you when I see you :)
