Have an aftermath I'm surprised I've never done before.

For ashskywalker66. This chapter seemed like one you'd like, idk. You're just a cool human and I felt like being a cool human back and tagging you about it.

The father/daughter relationship is strong with this one (even tho they call each other brother and sister). The self indulgent cuddling is overwhelming.

Enjoy :)

Technically, all she had to do now was wait.

And wait.

And wait.

Because lucky for her, this kriffing Blue Shadow Virus just so happened to take it's toll on Togrutas specifically. It's a miracle she held out as long as she did when she was infected.

Ahsoka had been released from the halls of healing just a couple days after she had gotten there- on the condition that she'd take a week of bedrest, and be barred from missions for at least twice that. They didn't have to worry. Ahsoka could barely get from her bed to the bathroom without getting out of breath, let alone go fight battle droids and blow up separatist battle stations.

She lay defeated in her bed back at the temple, barely awake enough to process her master entering. Must have come back from Padme's, She thought numbly. He'd been splitting his time between the two and it didn't take a genius to figure out why, but she said nothing. She was just grateful he was here now. "Hey Snips," He said softly, sensing her hazy and mostly asleep state. He crouched down by her bed to be on eye level, even if she wasn't planning on opening her eyes for her. "Padme's doing a lot better. I can spend more time with you now, although, you're asleep most of the time anyway."

Ahsoka gave an amused hum and her lips twitched up into a small smile. "'m glad." The girl shifted into a position that gave Anakin space to sit on the bed, if he so wished. Ahsoka hoped he did.

Catching her hint, her master smiled and sat on the bed with her, gathering her head in his lap and stroking her lekku in what he hoped was a comforting manner. Anakin noticed how awful she still looked. She technically was getting better, the healers wouldn't have let her out of their sight if she wasn't, but his little Padawan looked just as sickly as she did when he found them. More so, if that was possible. The unfortunate blue veins still streaked her face here and there, and her lekku were flushed with fever.

"The healers weren't kidding when they said Togrutas have it worse," Anakin said. She hummed again. He had learned that talking wasn't in her range of things she was willing to do when she was tired, and this sickness only strengthened that want. It was weird, for someone who was usually so talkative. "Feeling any better?" He asked in a vain hope that she might actually be progressing.

Ahsoka did what small shrug she could manage. "Not since yesterday. At least the coughing kind of stopped," She added. The girl was grateful the coughing had stopped, her throat was truly raw the first few days.

Anakin was still saddened by her state, but was also equally as grateful for the small progress. "That's good though." She nodded immediately before yawning, one of those wide-mouthed yawns that never ceased to remind Anakin of a loth cat. The fangs added to the look. "I hope this passes soon," He added for good measure. "I don't want the council sending me off on missions while you're still all... Incapacitated."

She chuckled at his description before cuddling back into his torso. "Me too. You make too good of a pillow."

"A pillow?" Anakin responded, faking offense and chuckling. "Well I guess if that's all I'm good for I'll just leave," He began the motions to get up. "I renounce my right as master, I guess they'll send you off to the 'corps then, see ya Snips." She laughed and grabbed onto an arm, forcing him to sit back down.

"Nooo, come back," She complained with a smile. He sighed jokingly and returned to his place on her bed. Ahsoka plopped herself against his side this time instead of her head on his lap, snuggling into his neck, causing her master to chuckle and thrown an arm around her. In a split second decision he scooped her small figure up and placed her in his lap despite her objective giggles.

When she had settled her head back into the crook of his neck, Anakin spoke. "It's a good thing you're so short, or else this would be wildly uncomfortable."

"I'm not that short," She snorted. Well, at least she was becoming more talkative, Anakin realized. It was a win in his book.

He looked down at her. "Says all two feet of you."

"I'm not short, I'm travel sized, and it's a good thing or else I wouldn't be able to fit in all those vents you shove me through on missions." It wasn't her height that made her able to do that, he thought. If he was as petite and Ahsoka his height wouldn't matter. It was her lanky limbs and tiny torso that worried him, usually during times like this when she dropped weight twice as fast as she could gain it back. He hoped she'd be back to eating normally soon, too.

He returned from his thoughts to her playful comments. "Yes, travel sized. We'll go with that."

"Hey, master Yoda always says that the smallest ones are underestimated, and that gives us the perfect opportunity to pounce when our opponent's not looking."

"You'll barely be able to reach their head with their montrals when you pounce, but maybe if you have a stepstool."

Ahsoka scoffed. "You say that like half my fighting techniques don't involve straight up jumping on you when you let down your guard." She's not wrong, He realized.

"Okay, fine, you win that one. But you're still too short to reach the cabinets," He replied. Anakin thought back to the first time she straight up leaped on the countertop to reach the top shelf, in Padme's kitchen no less. ("But I took my shoes off!" She told her master who was disappointed and amused, trying not to show the second emotion. Padme just stood beside him laughing, fully understanding the need seeing she was also somewhat short, and pointing blindly to the other side of the kitchen where a step stool was)

She huffed, too exhausted from their conversation. Possibly the longest they've carried one on since she was infected. "Plus side of being sick," Ahsoka said softly. "Is I never have trouble sleeping."

Anakin chuckled, somewhat sadly. It hurt him to realize that his Padawan had just as much trouble sleeping as he always had. But he said nothing about it. "And you get to relax for a solid week at least."

"I'd hardly call this relaxing, I feel like bantha dung," She joked, again yawning, this time into his shoulder.

Anakin reluctantly slid her off his lap and back down into her bed. "I'll come find you in a little bit, okay? I'll try to sneak some meat from the mess." Ahsoka grinned at her master's kindness.

"Thanks, master."

"Anytime. Now get some rest, I'll need you back on the field to save my shebs soon," He joked as he tucked her in. Somehow, despite Togruta's tendency to run warm and the fever, Ahsoka still wanted the comforter on. He tucked it under his chin and placed a soft kiss to the top of her too warm forehead, and left her to sleep. "Aht, sa'mahr," He told her softly, reverting to the few words she had taught him in her native tongue to try and provide some comfort. She smiled and returned it easily.

"D'bhem yeh, sa'daar."

Just squealing, it's fine

Hope you enjoyed! I might get to go to the mall with some of my friends so that's super exciting. I don't do social interaction often so this is gonna be really fun. It's been a while since I've hung out with them and I'm wicked excitedddd

Have a good night/day/whatever and I'll see you when I see you :)
