It had been one month. One measly month since Rex had agreed to help her with hand to hand. None of the other clones really bothered to ask where their Captain was sneaking off to every morning, assuming he was just training harder than normal, or meeting with someone. It wasn't their business, after all. Well, that's what most of them thought, most of them not being Fives.
He had convinced a few others to join him in following the Captain. Echo, because he had been in on the plan, Kix because he didn't doubt one of them would manage to get hurt, and Jesse who was just as curious as Fives (but would never admit it). The four of them followed the Captain to the training rooms early that morning, surprised to hear the Captain's booming laughter. "You're really improving, little'un."
Fives furrowed his brow. "Little'un?" He whispered to the others. Kix was standing near the back with his arms crossed, seemingly not caring. The others were as intent as Fives. Thinking back, the only person he's ever remembered Rex calling little'un was the Commander once or twice. His suspicions were confirmed a moment later by her voice echoing down the hall.
"I know you're out there!"
"Sir?" Rex asked Ahsoka, confused.
"Force presences. There's a bunch of people in the hallway." Rex seemed to huff at the Jedi nonsense before Kix entered first.
"The boys were wondering where the Cap went every morning and decided to snoop around instead of just asking." Echo yelled some sort of disapproval before joining him in the doorway.
It was Rex who spoke first. "I was just helping the Commander with some hand to hand. Care to join?" Ahsoka looked slightly bashful at the thought but didn't stop them. "I'm sure she could use some practice with someone else."
Ahsoka raised an eyebrow. "Rex, no offense but you're all the same. That's... Not much of a challenge."
"Ah, but you forget that we fight differently."
She seemed to get over her spurt of embarrassment quickly and looked at the four of them, picking her first victim. "Well then, let's go Fives, I wanna kick your butt." He tried to stifle a laugh.
"Um, sir I'm not sure that's such a good idea..." He replied warily, afraid of hurting her for her small size. Lanky, long legs, skinny build, he wasn't confident she wouldn't break on the spot.
Ahsoka grinned a little evilly. "Afraid I'll get hurt? I promise, Rex's taught me a little better than that." Hesitantly, Fives agreed. Moving towards the middle of the room where a mat was set up, Ahsoka eyes him like prey, deciding what move was best. Fives struck first, trying to get her to the ground fast, but Ahsoka retaliated. In a few swift moves, he was on the floor with one arm pinned behind his back.
His pride seemed to have taken more beating than he had, seeing as the fight was so short lived. "How-" He started, trailing off, not actually knowing what he wanted to say.
Ahsoka helped him up, laughing. "I told you Rex taught me well. Now come on, who else?" She asked to the others.
First up was Echo who was convinced he could beat her, if only for the ten credits Jesse had bet him. He fared no better than Fives. This time Fives bet Jess ten credits he couldn't, to which he scoffed and said something along the lines of, "Well now I know her fighting style, she'll be easy to take down." He too was on the floor in a few minutes, although it did take longer. Lastly was Kix. He didn't even try, just sighed and stepped up to the mat, landing one punch before Ahsoka had him on the floor.
Fives, once everyone had tired out, whispered to Echo, "Arm wrestling competitions are about to get a whole lot better."
Idk how to end this but someone requested it and I didn't want to leave y'all hanging, so here's 650 words of half-butted nonsense.
Have a good day/night/whatever and I'll see you when I see you :)
